Decent Essays
Have you ever been to Great Wolf Lodge? For my 10th birthday, I went to Great Wolf Lodge with my four best friends and my sister. The first thing we did after we got there was quickly changed into our bathing suits. But my little sister forgot her bathing suit so we had to go to the gift shop to get her one. There was a really fun one called the Howlin’ Tornado which had a huge drop in the beginning then you went side to side in a big funnel-shaped room then twisted out and it was over. I went on that one twice, once with my dad and friend Ally the other with my dad, Ally, and Audrey. There was

All I wanted to do was enjoy my day on a Freshman retreat to Camp Tekawitha. On a hot day I got back from my retreat around 5:10. Jaclyn and I talked to our coach two days before the retreat and told her that we would be getting back around 5:00 and probably won't be able to make it to practice. We told our coach around 5:00 because our teachers didn't know exactly what time we would be getting back to school. Since practice was over at 5:30, Jaclyn and I thought it wouldn't be necessary to go to practice.…

Most teenagers would probably tell you that the beginning of their adulthood was marked by having to do laundry for the first time, or being able to drive alone, or perhaps no longer sitting at the children's table at family events. But for me, it happened this past summer, when I made the very difficult decision that I would not return to Coleman Country Day Camp. To those who were not fortunate enough to have grown up at summer camp, this might not seem like such a big decision to make. But Coleman was my outlet, my second home for ten consecutive summers and spending those two months anywhere else seemed inconceivable to me.…

We left Courthouse Rock one day later and we traveled fourteen miles to Chimney Rock. We didn't stop there. We just drove right by. I spent six of my summers growing up at an all girls camp called Wavus. Wavus is a wilderness tripping camp in Maine based out of my hometown, Jefferson. Living in Jefferson, I did not obtain a great deal of exposure to other people from the country, let alone other parts of the world. When I went to Wavus I was put in a cabin with girls from all over the United States and even one from Belgium. Having to live with these girls for a month each summer enabled me to become close friends with them and learn about their lives.…

I once went on a hike on the Appalachian Trail with my mother. We set off and it started to rain on the first day, and my mom began to complain. By the end of the day, I wanted to jump off the mountain before I pushed her off it. Suffice to say, we were not well-suited hiking partners, due to our different processes; my mother dealt with her grievances by talking about the cold. On the other hand, I was just as miserable, but I attempted to ignore the dismal weather.…
