Hours later when I left I tried to remember as much as I could and write it down. They got on to me for writing Catriena up, for rehiring Annie and trying to rehire Kim, and for rehiring Martha that had worked previously in the Pecos store, He kept calling me a liar when I told him Martha had never worked for me. Before he ask a question he would say, I’m going to ask you a question and I don’t want you to lie to me, I would say to him ask whatever you want I always tell the truth, every time I answered a question John would say, that’s a lie. I told him I had sent pictures to Joey asking how many writes up he wanted me to do, I explained, I was trying to hire whoever applied, no one had come into help with the hiring, scheduling, training, and I was still working 7 days a week, up to 70 plus hours every week, with no additional pay. Both John and assistant had me sitting in the corner and both of them were blocking my path to the door which made me feel as if I was being held against my will. When they were done they both step outside the break room and when they returned John ask me if I had any questions, I replied are you firing me and he said not

In September 2013 Jessica Bennett, Rusty Shingleton & Matt Johnson had me come into Jessica office to explain that SOT (Select Oilfield Trucking) would roll up into SFS (Select Field Services) and at the time SOT had Christa Wigal and Mary Williams. Christa Wigal was the processor and Mary ran the scales. Christa Wigal had moved up to the now Select yard prior to the roll over to SFS due to getting rid of the office trailer at the stone yard, to save money monthly. I was told during my meeting that I would be the supervisor over Christa and Mary but was not to say anything yet but to start streamlining processes for SOT to roll into SFS.…

“Why I Chose Southwest” As a homeschooled high school senior, I am unable to take Advanced Placement courses, which are college-level classes taken at a high school. Students earn college credits by taking an exam at the end of the year. To remedy this, I decided to register at Southwest Tennessee Community College for dual enrollment classes. I chose Southwest for a multitude of reasons: to complete my high school education, to provide challenging courses in preparation for college, and to grant me college credit. I opted to take Pre Calculus, English Composition, and Anatomy & Physiology this semester.…

Brownsville, Texas is the town that I was raised in and can still call home. It was rich with Mexican culture and delectable, greasy tacos but it was still an economically disadvantaged city meaning that there were never enough resources to guide students to better opportunities. Of course, I never knew I was deprived of such an apparent luxury until I came to The University of Texas at Austin. When this realization came, I became frantic because of how behind I felt. I began looking for all sorts of resources and opportunities the university had to offer.…

Coming to Houston from a country where opportunities are very limited and economy is a challenge for the youthful, has made the last two years a little rough and hopeful at the same time for me and my family. Therefore, school is the most important in my life, after my family; I dedicate my time and my efforts to not become just the first professional in my family, but also to be an exemplary person in society thanks to the values that my parents have instilled in me. Before coming to Houston, I studied three years of Industrial Design in Colombia; although I loved my career, I think that I was too young (15 years old) to appreciate what school was providing me and to be sure what I wanted to do in life. Once I got here I understood that what…

One of the first things I remember about going on that trip is looking down at my feet and thinking that I would die if I fell. I was nine and very light-headed at the time. It was the winter of 2009 and one of the first times I had ever gone to Colorado. The drive there took about 6 hours from our house so you can imagine my excitement at finally getting out of the car as an inpatient nine-year-old. We were renting a small two story log cabin with a hot tub on the second- floor balcony from a family that had a winter home somewhere in Florida.…

Two thousand five hundred eighty-seven. I could take an eight-hour flight or a casual thirty-seven-hour drive, but no matter what, I am still two thousand five hundred eighty-seven miles away from my home in New Haven, Connecticut. Being a college freshman, trying to juggle class, homework, projects, studying, sleeping, eating, and athletics; finding the travel time to go home is an almost impossible task. Add in the cost of the $600 flights round trip and there is no chance a student can go visit home when they feel a little homesick. I on the other hand had never even fathomed being homesick from the frozen tundra I called home.…

I volunteered to help to fill in parts of the LAC forms, which were nearly complete. I asked if I had to fill the entire lot out; as I am very conscious of my handwriting and did not know whether or not my writing was eligible enough. I asked if anybody could please help or guide me on this; (GM) and (DW) both yelled at me stating: "I told you to do them last time, you volunteered to do them; so you WILL complete them ASAP. " After this, I explained that I was, in fact completing them; but was unsure if whether or not they were of an adequate standard. Most recently, on Sunday the 20th of March, I had just completed changeover with both (JM) and another staff member.…
