Personal Narrative: My Trip To Ecuador

Improved Essays
My mom started talking about family from Ecuador coming to visit, so in that instant I thought “Oh cool” because i haven't seen them in a long while. She said Florida, so I thought that they would be going to the main attraction which is Disney. Out of nowhere my mom questioned “Are you up to for a trip?” I answered her somewhat frightened “umm..? sure” “Well i've been looking for plane tickets for you to go to Florida by yourself, it’ll only be 3 hour flight, and one week with your dad's side of the family.” At the moment i was very excited, but i thought to myself i've never met half of my family because they don't live here, and also because i've never been on a plane by myself, something pretty scary yet so cool. I wasn’t …show more content…
The flight took off and it was the longest 3 hours, I had an ear infection and the flight didn't really help me, the family next to me had a baby that was 1 year old and cried the whole flight, in my head i kept saying “ when is this gonna land, i can't wait to get out!” . As soon as I arrived it was frightening because the orlando airport was huge and i didn't really know the family members i was going to be with, i didn't really know what they are like, or how they would treat me. Looking for them I found the “strangers” I called them and finally said hi to everyone, and headed to the hotel or atleast thats what i thought. I felt really awkward doing everything because never really know them. I wasn't sure what we were doing but we ended camping which was nothing exciting. Called my mom “ hey mom, thanks for letting me know i would be camping for two days, ugh! this is annoying i feel so awkward here. And guess who keeps getting texts from NJ about the whole Tiffany argument? me!” She was happy i got to meet them and she answered me “ Well hello to you too! don't feel awkward everything will be just fine, once you come back you and her can talk things out.” Camping at the Kona resort in Daytona Beach was stressful, because the bathrooms were far away. Walking into the cabin smelling the humid wood and just listening to the birds chirp the whole day was interesting and having to share the room with others was weird. The second day we ended up in a very beautiful place there was breeze the clouds were beautiful the sun was shining and you could hear the water splashing and hering kids scream of excitement. LAying in the warm, soft sparkly sand my cousin Nicole asked “ Domi, are you having fun? would you come to another vacation with us?” I wasn't sure how to answer, but i did “ Yeah it is fun i was scared on how everyone would act because i didn't really know anyone, but yeah you guys are

If you were to look in my room you’ll probably see a mess clothes all over the floor, papers on my bed, and tennis balls on my desk, you could say that I’m not the most organized person in the world. As I look at it every morning before heading off to school I am instantly reminded of a trip that I now use to define who I am: commitment, compassion, and courage. This was the photo of my trip in Leon, Nicaragua.…

Commencing Unbound A lurid, fuchsia dress with generously powdered glitter and blaring, familiar music danced to by relatives you weren't even aware were relatives are trademarks of the traditional rite of passage into adulthood in my culture and one I never had the pleasure to experience due to my family's financial situation at that time. Still, my own stride into coming of age was too one with renowned garb, although much less garish. Familiar music playing in the background and only my immediate family sat close to the stage in awe to watch me. Graduating from my esteemed high school, Design and Architecture Senior High (DASH), was the omega to the alpha of my future. That experience both humbled me and triggered the tenacity in me to…
