Personal Narrative: My Trip To Clifty Falls

Improved Essays
In the fifth grade during spring break my family and I decided to go to Clifty Falls and walk around in the caves and on the walking trails. I had told my mom I was having trouble breathing that morning and wanted to stay home, but of course she would not let me because it was a”family event.” We were there long enough to eat lunch and travel down a path to a waterfall and on the way back we decided to stop in one of the caves. About that time I felt my chest tightening up and knew that this was a bad idea to go into a damp cave when all I wanted to do was to go home and sleep. My mom, being a nurse, noticed the signs of me struggling with breathing. My mom decided it was time to leave and take me somewhere to get help. On the way to the doctor

I found the ride was challenging but fun. There was a mixture of different colors of leave and people in bright color outfits. By the end I was tired and the last hill was really hard. Being born and raised in Paterson, New Jersey, I have been afforded the privilege of witnessing the Great Falls of Paterson my whole life. I have visited the Great Falls many times throughout my life. When I was young with my parents, whether it was for a day in the sun or for a festival. I grew up appreciating this magnificent work of nature, I also took a part in cleaning up the falls, both as a volunteer and as a member of the Paterson Youth Council and Urban Youth Corps. I have brought my family to the falls to help with the clean ups, from my sisters, to my cousins, to my youngest nephews, and those memories stick to me to this day.…

Even when the beauty surrounded me, The mosquitos would not forget about the scent, I then looked like a huge walking mosquito bite. The mosquitos gave me what felt like millions of bites even though there were probably at least 50. When the mosquito attached to my arm it felt like a paint brush swiping against my arm. Why do mosquitos and gnats have to be alive? I would be a lot more comfortable hiking right now if they were not living.…

This summer I went to Mackinac Island and Upper penninsula With all my cousins and grandparents. I had a great time in the 4 sunny days we went there. We visited the harbor front of Mackinaw while eating hot fudge from the one of the street stores. Then, we took the 15 min ferry ride to Mackinac island and for a whole day just strolled around the island sightseeing the beautiful creations of nature. The next day, we took a 2 hour trip to Pictured Rocks in the Upper Peninsula.…

I went on a road trip to Lake Tahoe with my friends the week after graduation in June. We rented a cabin near the lake and spent four nights kayaking, hiking, and exploring different scenic spots throughout the area. My favorite (and scariest!) part of the trip was working up the courage to jump off a 20 foot cliff into the lake. The trip was a great way to wrap up our time at UCLA, and it gave us a chance to hang out together one last time before we went our separate ways.…

Hard Work Pays Off I take many vacations, and do a lot of hiking. Though, I have to say, Ice Lake is one of my favorites.
