The Midwest is home to states with rich cultural backgrounds and popular tourist attractions. To take a break from the busy schedule I have as a student, and to avoid writing more essays like this, I went on a vacation to Michigan with my mother and two siblings. We visited South Haven, a pleasant port city on Lake Michigan’s east coast, and Detroit, the famous largest city in Michigan. These areas interest me because there’s plenty to do; there are amazing restaurants, breath-taking scenery, and family-friendly, inexpensive entertainment. South Haven is famed for its relaxed atmosphere and homely feel.…
When we got to the city we had to drive around the Tidal basin before we got to the house. But that's where we saw the most beautiful trees in the world! We came in the springtime so all the trees were in mid-bloom. When we got to my grandparents house we unpacked and got settled in while my mom and grandma made dinner and let me tell you,it was the best meal I ever ate. When we woke up the next morning we had breakfast and voted on which monument we wanted to see first and we decided on the FDR memorial.…
When I have traveled, I have seen a lot of different things such as landscapes, air quality, plant life, etc. When I was 2, I moved to Miami, Florida, which I don’t remember much about. Then we moved to Columbus, Georgia where I spent half of my childhood. Georgia looks way different than here in Virginia. The air and the land is drier and it’s more humid down there.…
Ruffian! Me a ruffian! How dare they soil my name and reputation like this! The mic clicked on again. " Citizens of Atlanta, of the Federation.…
This time instead of stopping at my grandma’s house we went straight home. Overall, this trip was a blast even though the car rides were long. The time that I spent with my family was worth the trip. Also when we went to the amusement park I enjoyed my time.…
The day I moved to Georgia, we had been living in Texas for five years when my mom said we were moving to Georgia. I graduated my senior year from high school I thought she was lying, but she said that the VA center down in Texas was awful, and she didn’t like it there anyways, but she really wanted a better VA system. Then we started packing every month putting stuff in storage, and having to do open houses every other week, we had to clean, vacuum and take our pets with us every time we left the house until our house finally sold. Then we started looking at houses In Grovetown, also for a good school system then we waited 3 weeks for a house because we were looking at spots with upstairs and down stairs, a big backyard for or dogs, also a school…
For two weeks, I stayed in Charleston, South Carolina. I didn’t know much about the place, except that I referred to it as an army town because that’s where my sister and her husband, who was in the military, stayed. I was reluctant to go, but Charleston had a lot to offer me; a new change of pace and some new scenery was much more satisfying than spending the two weeks stuck in Iowa doing the same old routine. The weather was mystical in Charleston.…
During 2008, my family moved from New York to Georgia. Technically, the only person moved was me. My mom and dad stayed behind. My dad went to Atlanta and purchased a restaurant in Perimeter Mall ( upscale mall in Dunwoody, GA) where we opened up Malibu Wings and another one near Georgia State University on Peachtree Street. I finally got paid after all these years.…
I am from a town close to Statesboro, and Georgia Southern is the school my dad went to. I grew up hearing stories about the fun times that he had here, and anytime we came to Statesboro he would take me around campus and show me his old dorm, apartment, and class buildings. My favorite story to listen to him tell is about the watermelon that would be cut and given out to all of the students. I fell in love with the school in his stories, and when I was given the chance to choose, I picked Georgia Southern. I duel enrolled at Georgia Southern for two years before I was enrolled as an official college student.…
L is for Louisiana One summer when I was 3 or so I got to go to Louisiana. My dad had a great-uncle that lived down there with his wife and their 2 dogs. The great-uncle was a pilot in World War ll. He was even there on D-Day as one of the pilots!…
Over the summer I went on a great vacation with my family. My entire family flew from Denver to Florida. We took a cruise from Florida to the Bahamas and back to Florida again. After the cruise our vacation continued at Universal Studios in Orlando Florida. It was a fun filled vacation and a great cruise filled with lots of fun activities.…
We went on our first family vacation! We went to Destin, Florida and to Pensacola, Florida. It was so amazing! All we did was relax the entire weekend. The best part about it was that the trip was very spur of the moment.…
“I have to get out of here.” I thought as soon as I opened my eyes. I was woken up from a hit in the face by a half-awake Brooke, telling me that my sister was calling me. We 've been in Alabama for four days and we leave tomorrow morning. I cannot wait to be home.…
Every year since i was a baby My mother and I go to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a vacation. I've always been a fish. I love swimming in the ocean, the pools, water parks, anywhere you can think of. My mother and i would go out really deep in the ocean and just float while the sun kissed our skin.…
We decided we would drive around and see what else there was to do around that area. We went to a few different places, for example we checked out the mall and went to this place called Adventure Park where we got go on a zip line. But after that we pretty much just stuck with going to the beach for the next couple of days. When we were done we got our stuff together and started to drive up to Washington DC. During this we had a few problems with the car including almost running out of power steering fluid.…
