Personal Narrative: My Trip To A Goalie Camp

Decent Essays
Have you ever been so excited that you freaked out when you got to what you were excited about?
Well that happend to me. I was getting ready to go to MSU for a goalie camp, and I was freaking out more than I should have. I started at my house, packing my suitcase and Goalie bag while eating some chicago pizza, All this happened this year, I was 14. When I was done packing and eating my pizza my mom, dad and I all left for MSU to get lost in the campus.
The first practice was the WORST. I got there with my gear and it was so long since I had tied my pads that I didn't tie the tight enough so they came loose and I tripped like five or six times. To make matters worse my head hurt so much that the coach told me to go sit down. I still had a

Everyone was talking showers after practice, and the water was so cold!, The night before the last practice I felt like I was doing horrible, and I said that to, and there was a kid named Braden, He asked: How many goals have you let in for the scrimmage, My response was: 1 less goal every game, Then your getting better When I woke up for the last price and scrimmage my heels were killing me. I was in SO much pain, I didn't bring extra shoes so my feet hurt on like the second day. So that night When the scrimmage was going down I was starting in net, and I didn't get many shots, I really only got one, And I stopped it! After the scrimmage was done I got picked up by mom and went home and took a WARM shower.

The reason this is a very important event in my life is because, I learned that hard work will pay off, So will a lot of heel pain. On the way home I couldn't stop talking about being at camp, It was the most fun thing I did all summer. My mom was waiting at the dorms to pick me up, and I was still at the arena waiting for the car. Eventually she came and picked me up after I called her and told her where I was. I really want to go back to MSU for the summer camp, It made me work harder than I ever thought I

The Tournoi International de Hockey is the biggest youth hockey tournament in North America and is held each year in Quebec City, Canada. Every year thousands of kids ages 10-12 come to this tournament, and I was fortunate to be one of the selected players from Georgia to play in this tournament. Through this two week tournament, I got the chance to stay with a family from Quebec and experience what they do on a daily basis. With this family, whom I am still in contact with today, I learned a new culture, got to tour the city and have some memories that I will never forget. To add to the experience, all the games were played the Pepsi Colisee, which is a NHL sized rink.…

Imagine a rocket, specifically molded, perfectly symmetrical, prepared to do it’s job exactly how it needs to with no room for error. Seems almost perfect, on the other hand we have the Rockets, my AAA hockey team the summer before sixth grade. It was made up of players from the La Crosse area who played and practiced together every summer for the last few years. We weren’t exactly the most organized team in the sense of having professional attitudes. The ceiling at our practice arena had leaks and water would pour out if it was hit with anything.…

My domination of easily breezing by my neighbors in street hockey and always ranked at the top of stat sheets for scoring in recreational hockey, abruptly ended when I joined my first competitive travel hockey team. My first game exemplified the setbacks my fear imposed on my team when I frighteningly moved out of the way of an enormous player to grant him a free pass to the net in which he scored the game winning goal. Shamefully looking at me as if I were an ally of the other team, I became alienated after my team after they began the tradition of…

I texted my dad to have him run home and get me some Ibuprofen, and I’m sure I must have taken enough that night that my kidneys will never forgive me. When Eric came to get me to warm up, I got up and did an awkward limp to the door. He asked if I should still be running, and I assured him that I would be fine. At this point, no amount of pain medication would work, and I stepped up to the start line fully expecting to finish in last place, have Quisno find out about my injury, and freak out at me. I ended up running almost 30 seconds slower than my best time, but I still managed to finish in 5th place to help out the team.…

My summer started off fantastic, I was sleeping in, I was hanging with my fiends, I was helping my dad on the farm and, and playing baseball. I wasn't really worried about school, I was more worried about football. Everyone was telling me that the first 2 weeks of football were going to suck, they were saying that we were going to have to condition a lot. The main thing everyone was talking about was that we had to lift a tone. I kept thinking to myself, why am I doing this, than it hit me, I have to be doing it for a reason, if there wasn't a reason I wouldn't be doing it.…

I’m going to write about my first half of my freshman year of high school football. I was really good in 7th and 8th grade and I tried to push myself really hard to be as good as a high school varsity player and get a starting position. But I wasn’t good enough. I broke my ankle my last second from last game in 8th grade running the ball and got tackled and fell hard on it breaking my tibia and fracturing my fibula and tearing all the ligaments in between.
