Transformation Journey My transformation from childhood to adulthood came as a 16 year old highschool student. At this point in time I had experienced senioritis (as a sophomore). School as a whole is a test of discipline more than intelligence, and as a “kid” I would brush tasks off to the side and only focus on assignments that interested me. Laziness had fully taken over my life and because of it I was unable to focus during school, on the baseball field, and with friends. Going into the baseball, to be brutally honest I had the expectation of being on the varsity team. With the talent on that team at my position, and overall talent on the team I knew I was at least a top 15 player, and this was my time to shine. I would think back to all the hours of attaining knowledge, think I just wasted all of it because I didn't work hard enough. My friends could see the disappointment on my face every time we socialized. But, at the same time I couldn't wait for our junior to start so I could get my redemption.
Then the transformation happened, it wasn't a sudden spark in motivation, as it was discipline. Instead of saying I'm going to do it, I just did it. Not looking for praise, looking for redemption. As a result of this I ended up making the legion All Star team that summer, and had a 4.4 GPA my junior year. I also made the Varsity baseball team this year, and started in every game except for one.
In conclusion, me transitioning from childhood to adulthood, was a short difficult process, where I was forced to open my eyes about my future, and get to work to make it somewhere in life. Lastly, I had to focus on certain things in my life to help me redeem
