Personal Narrative: My Traits Of A New High School Student

Decent Essays
As a student, I have countless traits that both benefit me and hurt me. I’m a very driven person that is always requiring myself to do my best in and out of school. Although sometimes I can get a slightly off track while doing my work. Whether it’s other people talking to me during class, or at home and I pick up my phone to check it. Also with most things I like to take my time and go over things until I believe they are excellent. But like all kids I can get a little careless with some assignments that I feel are straightforward. Although another trait of mine is that I am a undoubtedly hands on person, I like to do activities while learning. Although I have countless traits, not all of them are good, but I have plenty that are to outbalance …show more content…
I believed my parents would have gone into more detail than they had in their responses. When I had filled out the questions myself they were about two to three sentences long, but both of my parents responses were very short and to the point. Also in the first question their answers differed from mine. Both of their answers had to do with how determined I am. Although I wrote about how I like to learn hands on in the classroom. These are some of the ways my parents and my answers differed a great amount. As a new high school student, my overall goal for the end of this year and for all four years of high school is to get ideal grades and to make good friends. I am really working this year toward a 4.0. During high school grades are unquestionably important. They can decide whether you get into an admirable college or not. I plan on going to U of M and you need top-notch grades. Another goal of mine is to make a lot of new friends. Now that i’m in the high school there are so many more people that I don’t know and could be friends with. I have a lot of friends already, but I can continue making more. Throughout my high school career, I hope to achieve good grades and make a lot of

Growing up I was always the tallest kid in the class. Whenever class picture day rolled around, I knew that I was in the front of the line because of my height. It was somewhat embarrassing when all the boys were shorter than I, and the girls made me feel bad for how out of place I was. Not only did my height provide social awkwardness, it also administered the constant, never ending struggle of finding garments long enough. Whenever my mom or grandmothers wanted to take me back to school shopping, I made excuses of “I don’t need any more habiliments” or “I do not feel good, all of the sudden…”…

The day of August 27, 2012 I was officially titled a freshman. One look down those unknown red and blue walls, will forever change my perspective of high school. There was an instant moment of disbelief in my freshman, I was terrified, and no thought came to mind as to how I was going to survive high school for the next four years. Of course I knew it'll be different from my tiny middle school, but will it be like the cliché movies about the upcoming of age, or resemble the happiest times of life. From that first day, I knew I wasn’t like everyone else.…

High school changes people. They express themselves, become opinionated, and they start to look at the world differently as they experience things they have never encountered before. A wise Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “Man’s mind stretched to a new idea never goes back to its original dimensions.” This quote is an excellent way to describe my experience in high school.…

Every day is an opportunity to be expressed and revolutionized. This way of thinking can be achieved by honoring the escapism of creative art, an idea I have grown very fond of. It all started five years ago, as I watched the drama department at my high school produce it’s original show “Adolescent: The High School Saga” . It was my very first experience of Theatre, when suddenly my interest peaked, practically keeping me on the edge of my seat. While watching the production my conscious reality became altered, as if I have escaped my all too average reality of high school in South Carolina to the suspenseful high school world of ancient Egypt (the setting of the play).…

As I sat on the hard floor of the rifle range, stretching for the first raider practice of the season, a new cadet came towards me. I silently assessed him as he neared closer. He gave off the airs of a nondescript high school student. ‘His caliber is unequivocally that of B team member’ was my initial impression of the fledgling raider-to-be. I clearly did not have to worry about this youth as competition.…
