Being that this is my third year as a student at Benedictine University, I continue to grow as an individual and learn more about myself. This school year, I had the opportunity to be a part of the executive board for the Pre-Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy Club as a director of recruitment. Next year, I hope to be co-president with one of my colleagues. Throughout the year, I was in charge of updating the club’s website with information about the club and any new events that were being offered by the university. One specific factor is that I am definitely not as timid with talking to a large student body in public. I used to be very shy and hesitant to speak my mind in front of a large group due to a fear that others would judge me. However, I soon learned that those issues do not matter and now I know how to professionally handle those situations of me speaking in front of a large crowd. Another factor is that all of this experienced only expanded my knowledge even more about the world. Being a hospital and physical therapy volunteer, I developed many close relationships with various patients and medical professionals. I also grew to love my career path to physical therapy even more with all of the exposure and experience that I was obtaining. Although it may not always be easy to squeeze these opportunities into a busy college schedule, having involvement with leadership and volunteer experiences is something that I will never regret and will always have the heart to
