It’s very hot in this room. Not a single noise if nobody is talking; it’s very peaceful. Above are thick concrete bleachers; which will soon hold a lot of people. The crystal blue water is so magistical, but very cold once you get in! My heart is beating very fast now, and I’m nervous. Today is the day, after so many practices, and hardships, I’m finally ready. The team and I get everything ready for tonight. We are up against 3 other schools, our toughest opponents. Everybody is ready to beat the other teams and has the desire to. We are ready. First event: 200 yard backstroke. Our best backstrokers out there, defeating the other teams. We yell and cheer them one! “ GO, GO, GO!” I shouted. By the end of the night my voice will be out. …show more content…
The freezing cold water hits my face and soon my body. Although the water is so cold it feels amazing. I’m still under when I’m about a foot to the edge of the shallow end; it helps your strength in the long run when you do this. I surface and kick my feet as fast as I can. I make my arms go in like an arrow ( smooth, with barley and splashing) and out very fast to continue my cycle. I notice that I’m in first place while I’m finishing my 50, I still have to do another 50 yards. There is a girl not far behind me. I swim faster than I knew I could. I do a flip turn and I’m on my 75 yards. Now the girl is about 10 yards away from me and I’m finally safe to say I’ll win the race. I’m do another flip turn and I’m pushed off the wall when all of a …show more content…
Our team helps all the people down from the bleachers and out the door on the left side of the pool to go outside and my injured teammate left to go the hospital. Finally is clicks all the noise of when I was in the water was a gunshot (If you didn’t know this but when you’re underwater you can barely hear anything.) and she didn’t bash her head, she was shot in the head. Luckily in the second shooting nobody was injured. Once everybody was outside we got some people in unlocked cars and on the other team’s buses. Everybody was safe, I blacked out shortly sitting down on the Heritage hills

This year, my basketball team was in trouble because our best players and coach left. Practicing 6 days a week, we repeatedly stayed at school for 12 hours a day. Starting from scratch was difficult because it meant spending a plethora of time at the drawing board. Our new coach did a great deal of heavy lifting, but a handful of us embraced leadership roles by giving pre-game pep talks, assaying games, researching other teams, suggesting drills, and designing plays. Assigned point guard, I was forced to overcome my insecurities and, because I knew my team was counting on me, I pushed myself to become a better player.…
