At last, the competition finally arrived. It was a very cold and windy day and it took my school about 25 minutes to get to the stadium, which was located near Kingston road and Birchmount. When I walked into the stadium I instantly felt nervous, and terrified, but luckily our track coach gave my teammates and I a pep talk, he told us “We have trained hard for this day, so give it your all, but remember to just have fun” that pep talk gave me the confidence I needed to overcome my nerves and perform at my very best. It was about 10:40 am when I heard the announcer call for the grade 5 girls 100 metre sprinters. When I got on the track, I sat down where the rest of the grade 5 girls 100 metre sprinters were. The starter on the microphone said with a deep voice “Runners on your marks, get set, Go!” When I began running, I could hear my school cheering “Let's go Abi, let's go” I didn’t want to let down my school so I pushed my hardest and crossed the finish
