After enjoying my sunny day, I came home and ate tacos for dinner.
Nothing seemed special. Today has been just my taco day.
I tried to make a reservation for Oro Azteca Mexican Restaurant but they quit taking group reservations since people do not show up and when they show up only two people show up. Reserving tables hurt their business due to the amount of no show or wrong head count information. Therefore, in order for us to sit together we need to be the first one at the door.…
My day was not special is just the same like every other day.…
On December 28th , me and my family went to Chuck. E Cheese for my niece Layla birthday. She loves to go there , its like one of her favorite places t ogo other than Cracker Barrel. College Essay Growing up in New Haven, Connecticut there weren’t big mansions, people with expensive cars, nor any sign of wealth .It ’s a small city filled with homeless people, violence and poor neighborhoods that made me into the person I am today. A city so small you see the same people everyday.…
As we were coming back from my exquisitely played soccer game we were happy and celebrating and eating the leftover, fiery distinctive Spicy Nacho Doritos. Then we got home. We were turned upside down and had gloomy and bitter feelings about what happens next. We picked up our dog. We definitely weren't happy or excited.…
I was just sitting in my taco cart selling tacos when a young fellow came up to me and asked for the normal double cheese beef stuffed taco. I told him it will be right up and then all of a sudden my cart started moving,I was scared. I was thinking to myself i'm gonna die i'll never survive. I just wondered who this was. This couldn’t be good I thought so I called the cops.…
Everyone remembers the day it came. I was just doing normal kid stuff when I heard a loud bang. I didn’t think much of it because there was occasionally loud noises in the area so I went on with my day as if nothing had happen. Later that night I woke up to an uneasy feeling that something bad had happen but I just tried to go back to bed.…
The Sunday after Thanksgiving, I rather spontaneously---or perhaps, I’d like to think, by the work of the Holy Spirit---got on a night bus and went to church. I arrived at St. Mark’s Cathedral to a contemplative Eucharist in their beautiful chapel. It was soft and lovely and quiet. I love the quiet. I sought it out when I came to college in Seattle, living in “the big city” for the first time this fall, more than a little overwhelmed by the sheer number of people everywhere.…
Where I was waving “Adios” to my mother, the others were waving “Goodbye” to their parents. Torn between two worlds is what I thought I would always be. As a Mexican-American I believed that I would never be fully Mexican or American. I believed that I would never really fit into one specific group and would be target of exclusion all my life.…
T is for Texas I remember the day that my mom and my dad told my siblings and me that we were going on a vacation to Texas. The main reason we were going to Texas was because my dad's sister lived down there with her kids and during that year my dad and his sister’s Grandma died so we wanted to go and see how they were doing. We left the day that we got out for summer break.…
“Deeper Into my Life” Individuals are unique in their own ways and one of mine happens to be my name, Darrnyejah Bolds. Everywhere I go people have a hard time pronouncing it. Many people have given up and just refer to me as “Ms. Bolds,” but also I have two nicknames “Nye”, and “Nyejah,” which is mostly used by family and friends. Over the years, I have adjusted to my nicknames and became very comfortable with them. I entered this world on February 27, 1997 with the zodiac sign of Pisces.…
There are a couple of obstacles that have played a major role in me becoming who I am today. I've had naysayers trying to negatively influence my thoughts, and crush my dreams by saying that said I will never amount to anything, or that I should give up on my dreams and get realistic with my goals. A couple years ago I was a completely different person. I was out of shape physically, my academic performance was very poor, and I had a terrible attitude. I improved greatly in athletics and my academic career.…
Meanwhile, unfortunate Sarah was home distressing about me, and the particularly erratic and stormy weather. Texas is where we learned the phrase “tornado watch.” In fact, she went through so many when departed for the second Flight School phase in Fort Rucker, Alabama she declared she would never live in Texas again.…
Owning My Own Restaurant Compared to Working at Taco Bell When I first started working at Taco Bell I had imagined what it would be like to own my own restaurant. I knew that by working there I would gain a great deal of knowledge about the industry. Working at a company like Taco Bell offers a sense of security.…
Have you ever been so happy you cried? Well I have! When I was eight years old, there was a pizza shop called Not Just Pizza a few blocks away from my house. My childhood friends, Joey, Cam, and my brother, Dylan, and I went to this pizza shop every Friday night. Ironically, the pizza was awful, and every time we went, we had ice cream instead of pizza.…
