This Wednesday my parents took me to the beautiful province of New Brunswick. I went on two college tours one at the University of New Brunswick, and the other at Saint Thomas University. As we set into the four and a half hour drive I began to nervously reach for what I was going to say. These past twelve years of school were supposed to guide me in this decision and all that I've discovered is that I cannot become a princess; irregardless of the amount of tiaras I had when I was little. There are several truths that will factor into my future; I want to study in the Maritimes, and I greatly enjoy art. The door opened and all I heard was "auntie Krista gave me a call!" following this was: "oh my lord you haven't changed since the last time I saw you!" (The last time happened to be my Aunt's wedding when I was six.) As it turns out we were meeting with Carolyn, my aunts former college roommate and best friend. Meeting with a family friend made the whole experience easier and a lot less stressful. Until she continued to ask me what I wanted to study in the following year. I squirmed in my chair facing the watchful eyes of my parents along with Carolyn's toothy smile. I wished I could fast forwards into next fall where all the decisions and paperwork would be done with.
