Personal Narrative: My Son Play Football

I would let my son play football?”Would I do it again? Yes, without hesitation”(Fujita 5). I agree with Fujita’s father when he said that he would let his son play football all over again. He believed it was good for him and it helped him get to where he is in life right now. Fujita also believed that he would not be where he is if it was not for football. “Football gave me so much, friendships, paid for college, and helped me become financially stable”(Fujita 3). Since a father of a professional football player would allow his son to go through it all over again, I believe that I would also allow my son play football

As long as we continue to support a game deeply connected to violence, each of us is implicated in the terrible toll this is taking on football players in their retirement” (Camosy). Kids grow up having dreams of being all kinds of things: firefighter, astronaut, president, and even NFL player. Being someone who doesn’t give up on her dreams, I doubt an aspiring football player would either. The money is there, the fame is there, and the fans are there as well.…

In the article “Would I Let My Son Play Football?” by Scott Fujita informs the dangers of playing Football and as fun as it might be for my son I would not let him play football. After reading the article it said, “There seemed to be red flags everywhere, and even if I couldn’t state with certainty that the game caused each and every ailment that so many of my friends were experiencing, the evidence was mounting quickly” (Fujita 2). I agree with the article because even if it could be an exciting activity to play there are some cautions to take into consideration. For example, Football players are becoming injured and giving concussions that could possibly lead to death. It could also create long term injuries such as memory loss, short temper,…

Others may say that, “These sports make invaluable contributions to character development and future success of children by teaching them teamwork, discipline, self-control and triumph over adversity. These years also provide some of the most precious and long-lasting memories parents make with their children” (Maroon & Bailes, 2017). In spite of this, “Brandon Steburg Sr. is the father of Brandon Jr., who was injured on a tackle for Papillion-La Vista High School in Nebraska in September. Brandon Jr. was placed in a medically induced coma to reduce pressure on his brain” (Axon, Barnett, Brady & Smith, 2016). Although some may say that it is very important to play a sport while growing up, at some point you have to ask yourself if it’s worth it for the risk of such a dangerous injury.…

As a parent would you let your son play football knowing that the consequences can lead to his death? Football has a history with concussions and severe injuries that have affected players life later on in the future. Most of the athletes who have received concussions do not realize it until it’s too late, which can be later studied on and see a brain disease such as Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). With this research, I would not give my son permission to play football because it causes concussions and bodily injuries, promotes violence, and causes permanent brain damage and death.…

Conclusion Essay Football is a huge part of my life as I started to play this game at the young age of five. Throughout the years of playing and countless hours of “up downs” and what seemed like running forever, I acquired a lot more than just bruises and broken bones. I learned skills that I can carry with me for life. Football is a classic american sport that is possibly the most violent of all sports and while 47% of all concussions occur in highschool, it is still one of the most widely popular sport played by kids all over America. I would give my son permission to play this violent sport because I want him to experience and learn all the good attributes such as respect, teamwork, and building confidence.…

The adrenaline, hearing the crowd cheering, scoring touchdowns; it a rush that goes through my veins and I cannot get enough of it. Growing up I used to see my friends come home from little league practice everyday on school days and that really used to make me mad. They used to get home when the street lights were on and we were not able to come outside and play at that time.…
