I looked over the icy edge where I could barely make out the deep snowy ground. All I could imagine was me on top of a steep hill , with everyone in the world down there wanting me to come down…… I guess they’d have to wait. I saw my dad going to one side of the mountain, then turning to the other side with crisp turns, over and over. The word that popped up in my head was never then the another word which was me. Before I knew it he was at the bottom. Great now my dad even joined the crowd! The freezing weather didn't help my hands or toes while they were already frozen enough. The feeling of my foot squished in a boot wasn't helping here.

“I know you can do it,” my dad said.

I was slowly moving my skies forward only skiing for my third time. When trees were next to me and the parking lot all the way down I knew this couldn't be good. I just flew down the hill where my skies were almost of the hill. With the snow in my face, the wind making me ears cold, and the fact that I had no idea where I was going I was frightened. I was so scared to keep on skiing, I was just about to plan to fall over. I opened my eyes and there I was on the other end of the hill with my heart beating right next to the parking lot. I was fast racing to my dad.

I looked down, all I could see was the snow white snow, replaying that moment over and over again. I was slowly moving my skies forward, acting kind of like you're about to fall off a cliff and wave your arms in a circle but get your balance…...

"One of the greatest discoveries a man makes, one of his great surprises, is to find he can do what he was afraid he couldn't do,"this quote by Henry Ford reconnects when it comes to facing something you're afraid of; our fears. When we get over fears, we realize only then that we had the courage before to do that something we were afraid of doing. One time I was afraid was when I started ice skating. I was at a party for my younger sister's friend at an ice ring.…

At the beginning of my Christmas break, I was sitting by a smoky, hot fire with some hot coco with marshmallows in it with a warm blanket on a cold day. On the second day of break, I was riding my four wheeler drifting on the icy roads trying to go get more wood for my family's fire at my grandma and grandpa's house .But when I got there and there was a big puff of smoke in the back and it smelled like a fire so I ran back there, but it was just my grandma and grandpa making a fire so they could roast marshmallows so I joined and roasted marshmallows with them then I got my wood and rode back home.…

Not caring about me, he continued to ski while also skiing over my glove which was now also under snow. Knowing I was going to be here for a while, I tried finding a comfortable position to be on the snow. The loud, buzzing sound of the ski lift roared past me for what seemed to be for hours. As we were coming to the end of the cold ride the bar lifted up and I had to get into position for the landing, with one foot in and one out, I had managed to land a plane with no landing gear. My heart was racing as I buckled my second foot in the boot; I was then ready to go down the mountain for my first time. I started out with a green slope for beginners, which was packed with little ski I school kids, as I was trying to turn my board I ended up jumping the berm and landing into a tree. I was laying in the freezing cold snow trying to get up with my board even though my feet were begging me to stop I went on. My body was giving up but we were about 30 minutes from the bottom and I was so thirsty and my head was pounding, so my cousin said that we could take the shortcut down and that was straight down.…

It was the afternoon of November 31st, snow freshly on the ground. My dad and I drove to our property, ready to see some deer. Once I arrived at the property, I jumped out of the truck and put on all my gear. You could smell the freshness of the snow, and could almost feel the bitterness in the air. I put on my gloves, and grabbed my gun.…

In mid October early in the morning the day was crisp and chill. The sun was just burning the morning fog off of the lakes cool waters. The dew on the grass and trees was glistening from the sunlight and the bird were singing their songs of jubilee . The entire woods were peaceful and still, and the sunrise was magnificent. During this moment I realized how beautiful nature is when the outside world is a distant memory, and all we need to do is take advantage of the little things life gives us and never stress the big ones too much.…

I had not ever been in a car accident before in my life, so when I experienced one, I did not enjoy nearly dying. It happened four years ago, I can still vividly remember everything. I was with my sister, Nakesha, she was driving since I was not old enough to drive yet. We were having a good day and had decided to go to my dad’s for a while to see him since our parents are divorced. We spent a considerable amount of time with our dad who kept making us laugh like he always does.…
