Personal Narrative: My Sexy Frog Lure

With the temperature at a comfortable 70 degrees and the sun shining down on me, I knew it was the perfect day to catch the biggest largemouth of my life. The water was cool and the bass were feasting off the hundreds of frogs in the water grass. All I had to do was fool one into snatching my KVD Midnight Sexy Frog Lure instead of a live frog. But little did I know this was not going to be as easy as I thought. Slam, the old truck door closes after I grab my tackle. My Lews Tournament MG on a Denali Lithium 7’2” Medium-Heavy rod is the perfect froggin combo and i'm ready to catch a trophy. I get about 10 good cast when all the sudden I hear what sounds like a boulder drop in the water but the fisher in me knows it isn’t a boulder it is a HUGE fish. I got bored with them fiddling around so I made a couple more casts when I hear that monstrous splash in the water again. This time I was closer so I cast my frog bait on the far side of a matted vegetation at walk it slowly across the mat. Like a fat kid on a cupcake the bass leaps out of the water snatching the frog, I set the hook and reel and reel and reel giving him to time to fight or get unhooked. The first look I get at him is when I am swinging him onto the bank, meanwhile to fire department almost has my foot unstuck but I can't quite reach the fish where he is on the bank. If he flops around on the bank he has a chance of bouncing back in the water. In one swift movement of fright and excitement i pull my foot from the rocks and leap out to reach the bass’s lip. I yell in triumph as I hold up the humongous 18 pound largemouth bass by the lip and the firefighters that helped with my foot clap and cheer. We took a picture, this day will go down in fishing
