Personal Narrative: My Second Time In The Workplace

Decent Essays
Today is July 17th, this is my second time worked for goodwill. First time it was so trouble, we just pack up the clothes by their label color. The green and the pink, we did that 3 hours! I researched lots of pass for how to hold the clothes early and high efficiency. And sometime I told with Jack, there are all I did at last time. Fortunately, we got the new jobs at this time. But they’re both very boring and tired jobs. First, we push a big shelf and it has wheels. After that, we just packed up the products from the shelf and putted them to correct place. Three time later, we packed up the clothes until 5:00pm. There are everything we did at second week.

Clarence, I agree with you completely that older generations follow the motto “a hard day’s work for an honest day’s pay”. I work with a few older employees and they work 5x harder than some of the younger employees I work with. I also received a 35 on my EI test which I was not surprised of either. I have a very high work ethic and have very little time for play in my job. I do need to learn to put myself in others shoes; sometimes this is very hard for me to do.…

I have always been interested in learning and using new ideas. Throughout my life, I have invariably drawn from my life experiences, newly learned ideas and my continuing education to help problem-solve sensibly and realistically allowing me to move forward or help others reach their goals. Although I have no formal teaching experience, in my past work and involvement in organized sports, I have repeatedly used the Progressive philosophy. When dealing with 13 & 14 year olds many situations arise such as bullying, personality clashes or simply not understanding a drill or play. I deal with these situations by asking questions to stimulate a discussion, allowing them to draw on past experiences; positive or negative, consequently allowing them to come up with a solution or grasp the knowledge they are seeking.…

My response to this selection is that Hornak made right decision, even though it took her long time to realize, but it would be hard for me If I were to change my career. It would be hard for me because I know I spent a lot time to study and it costs me a lot too. The idea of being told that I had to work for the first time made me want to eat glass; but could it possibly have turned out for the better? In England, when you reach 10th grade you participate in a nationally accepted program called 'Work Experience'. After 2 weeks of tireless searching I landed a job at Ariya Capital; an experienced developer and investor in clean energy and infrastructure projects throughout sub-Saharan Africa. It was actually much more advanced than any job I ever thought of getting.…

At my current jobs, we have different scenarios that come in throughout the day. Most days the goals and tasks stay the same. Sometimes, depending on the circumstance, like when advisors are not available, I would have to use my problem solving skills, and figure out how to do things on your own. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month, where management are really clear in providing feedback on future goals, what needs to be worked on, and what the team does well. They make sure that these goals are attainable to the team, by constantly asking us different ways they can provide help, and make our job easier.…

At a younger age, I would say I believed that I can only trust myself and my mother, this is because as a little kid my mom would always tell me that there are bad people in the world and that giving them any information about anything can be very harmful. But as I grew up and realized what was actually happening in my country I knew there were millions of others that were suffering against the “bad people” and we could only do something about it if the whole community came together to help. It was at that time when I was about 25, when I started to put some effort into trying to establish more just conditions within my country especially after the implication of extremely high food prices. This is when I started my first strike involving my…

Whenever, I needed help, other employees wouldn’t mind helping me out. There were a large number of people working there who were immigrants but no one was racist towards anyone. Everyone worked together and treated each other like a family so that helped me to be comfortable working with them.
