Personal Narrative: My School Trip To Pathfinders

Improved Essays
It was a cold Monday morning. I was packing my clothes and preparing for my school trip. I was in 5th grade, and our school had a planned camping trip to Pathfinders. It was my first time going somewhere without my parents. I have never been on a school trip so far away from home. The trip was going to last three nights and two days. My mom dropped me off at school. “ Have a great time Lam” she said. “ I will. Love you” I said. I was off at school, waiting for the teachers and everybody else to arrive. It was really cold outside. I was wearing tons of layers of clothes since, we were told that up at Pathfinders it would be really cold. Pathfinders was located up in Idyllwild. I was in a group with my friends Tommy, Angel. Angel was the first to arrive with me. “ Aren’t you excited for this trip” said Angel. “ Yes!” i replied “i’ve been waiting to go on this camping trip”. “ What do you think we are …show more content…
I remembered taking a nap through most of the bus ride. When we were close to the campsite, I remembered seeing the beautiful white snow surrounding the area. The view from uptop of the mountain was magnificent. You could see the whole city of Hemet. “Hey Nate” said Tommy. “ Yea” I said questionly. “ Look over there” Tommy said as he pointed. There was a bobcat that was just sitting on the sidewalk looking as our bus while pass by. We finally arrived at Pathfinder Ranch. There was snow all over the campsite. Icicles were hanging from the top of the cabins. There was a basketball court in the middle where we were dropped off. There were many other kids from different schools with us.
The lesson I learned was that I should not fear leaving home. I learned to be without my parents, even when it was just a while. I spent three nights without them and it was a great experience. It was the first time that I had a little freedom, being on my own and with my friends. I did miss my family but it was a great

Drewe and I walked and told each other stories about what we’ve done and talking about things we liked or games that we were going to play for hours. Stopping every now and then to sit for awhile or to set up snares, it was around noon when we found a place we wanted to build a fort in. There were birds everywhere, rabbits and squirrels occasionally passed by, there were a lot of spiders though which kinda sucked but we got rid of them. The weather was beautiful too, the sky was clear, it was hot but there was enough wind to keep cool. We thought it was probably starting to get late so we started to build a fort, cutting down trees and making basically a small home in the forest, It took us a few hours but it was so much fun.…

It's funny how you think of someone a certain way and then when you get to know them, they're nothing like that at all, whether they live up to your standards and everything you thought about them was right Or whether you're disappointed with the way they are. We as humans have this really nasty habit of judging people for their actions on a daily basis, not knowing the story behind why they might be doing it. We say things we don't mean, we assume things the wrong way and we act out when life doesn't go the way we expect it to even though sometimes it's for the best. Being 21, the biggest lesson I've learned is that I can't let my own problems and insecurities get in the way of other people's lives.…

After arriving to Wood Middle School as I would on any other day, I walked into the bustling commons area and noticed a herd of students scattered into their separate cliques. However, what immediately caught my eye was the number of teachers and administrators who clearly looked flustered and distressed. I soon left the commons area and headed towards the library to figure what exactly was going on. Sure enough, there was a cluster of teachers gazing at the library’s television in utter disbelief over what would soon become known as “The Stock Market Crash of 2008”. Even though I was only in the 6th grade, I still had enough competence to realize that this was not an ordinary day in the stock market.…

Throughout my scholastic journey, I have been able to write many interesting essays. This includes research essays, persuasive essays, and many creative writing essays. Although I may not be able to remember most of the essays that I have written in middle school and high school, I can definitely recall a few from my senior year of high school and my first years of college. One essay I can think of immediately is my “That Thing” essay from senior year of high school. The essay was based on a song called “That Thing” by Lauryn Hill.…

In life, there are many situations in which we wish we could go back and fix, but also there are situations where if we could go back and had a chance to redo it we wouldn’t because of the lessons we’ve learned from the outcomes. Some lessons that are learned are more important than the others, some of them are more obvious than the others too. Some take time for you to really fully understand the lesson. Most lessons I have learned throughout the years have been outcomes of me doing stupid things in which I knew not to do but I proceeded to do them anyways.…
