I remembered taking a nap through most of the bus ride. When we were close to the campsite, I remembered seeing the beautiful white snow surrounding the area. The view from uptop of the mountain was magnificent. You could see the whole city of Hemet. “Hey Nate” said Tommy. “ Yea” I said questionly. “ Look over there” Tommy said as he pointed. There was a bobcat that was just sitting on the sidewalk looking as our bus while pass by. We finally arrived at Pathfinder Ranch. There was snow all over the campsite. Icicles were hanging from the top of the cabins. There was a basketball court in the middle where we were dropped off. There were many other kids from different schools with us.
The lesson I learned was that I should not fear leaving home. I learned to be without my parents, even when it was just a while. I spent three nights without them and it was a great experience. It was the first time that I had a little freedom, being on my own and with my friends. I did miss my family but it was a great
