Personal Narrative: My SMART Goal

My SMART goal was that I would save $150 to buy concert tickets to Florida Georgia Line by August 2016, I would earn this money by getting a job at Market Basket and I wanted to achieve this goal because I have never been to a concert and I want to go see one with my friend. I did not meet my goal. My goal was not achievable with my lack of regular income and the dollar amount was far too high. It would have better to have chosen a goal that was very inexpensive and could have been achieved easily without a means of income. This goal was not the best choice for the reasons listed above and also it was not a goal that I was extremely personally invested in. Because I did not really want my goal, I was less passionate about saving for it. The biggest factor that …show more content…
The most enjoyable part of this whole process was learning how to track and keep a spending log. It was very fun because you could easily how much money you had spent and received and what your balance was after each transaction. The most frustrating part of this whole process was the lack of transactions I had to log, as I felt like this was a very valuable tool that I could have taken greater advantage of if I had a regular income and expenses. I will continue to use this tool in the future as it is quite useful for keeping your finances in check. For my next SMART goal, I will be sure to keep the goal within my means and to have a concrete plan of how to achieve the goal. Also, I will need to have a better reason of why I want to achieve this goal. Completing this project will help me in the future as it teaches me how to set goals and set a path of how to achieve them. It also taught me how to track spending and income in an easy and convenient manner. These two financial lessons I have learned are very valuable and will be well worth my time to remember in the
