Personal Narrative: My Roomate

Decent Essays
My roomate has had an up and down issue with body weight, body image and self confidence. He has a happy and positive personality but struggles with living a healthy lifestlye, he wants to change that and admires that i workout a decent amount and try to eat relitively healthy. I tell him it is not a diet it is a lifestyle. He is motivated and wants to pick up football and try out for the team, and has asked me to help him come up with a one month plan to help him lose weight and get his fitness journey and new lifestyle started. The reasoning for him getting to the position he is in with his body was becasue he grew up in a household with lots of cooked meals and going out to eat, as he grew up those habits stuck with him and the effects of the world and his environment took a toll.

The first step to his monthly plan was not to decide what kind of exercise and food he was going to have to start but to set small goals like like losing two pounds a week, getting all the junk food out of the house, looking up accomplished football players to get motivation and not giving up. The second step is to take progress pictures for postive reinforcement so he can see how good of a job he is doing and get him more motivated to work towards his goal of making the team. Before we started the plan I told him it takes a while to break a habit so do not get dicouraged.

If he looks at the pictures and sees that his body is changing for the better the more that behavior of wanting to workout, eating healthier, and practicing for football will be repeated and become a new habit. He will have small downer moment and up moments but he will have to learn eventually through those consiquences whether it be bad consequences from things like eating bad and seeing/feeling those reluts or good consequences like losing those two pounds per

My ears ring as the old school bus screeches to a halt. We hop off, and a dry, winter gust smacks my face. Instantly, the frigid wind sends my nose running. After we become accustom to the cold shock, Mrs. Cimenski, our director, orders us to haul the heavy wooden tables and a set of four lockers toward our designated backstage area.…
