Everyday after finishing my homework, I would go to the piano and pick up where I’d left off in “Sonate Pathétique” the previous night. It’d been a couple of months since the day I first played it, and I’d managed to greatly improve as a result of the countless hours I spent practicing. That night, I was determined to play through the entire first movement without committing a single mistake. Unlike many of my friends, I had a very meticulous mentality. Everything I did had to be done with the utmost care and precision because to me, nothing beat quality work.…

On September 15, I went and took part in el Grito ceremony held at the Miller Outdoor Theater to celebrate the Mexican Independence Day. I did not know what was el Grito, so I went to that event with an open mind. The show came after a long speech in both Spanish and English about the Mexican community in Houston and the impact of Harvey on the community. I really enjoy the sense of community that I experienced during that event. People came as a family or with a group of friends.…

As I sat in the taxi on the day I arrived in Seville, I was admiring the scenery; the bushes were well groomed, the buildings came in all shapes and sizes, and on every corner I spotted a Spaniard walking their dogs. The tantalizing aroma of oranges hit me as I exited the taxi and walked towards my final destination, which would be my home for the next three months. Nothing was making me more excited than the idea of trying a new type of wine, this “Amontillado”, that my friend offered me to taste and judge, to have an opinion from my point of view. I think he is not entirely convinced of the quality of his product and wants me to check it out., since he’s aware of my big knowledge in the field. I start feeling a little confused, because of all the liquors and different alcoholic beverages he made me drink during our little journey underground, but I’m sure that we are very close to find the barrel. Here we are! My friend brings me in a little room made with three walls and he starts giving me details about the wonderful wine I’m about to taste.…

In all of the reading that we have done so far this year, I have probably picked up some new words and also learned the meaning to some that I have already heard before. So for my favorite experience was probably writing the 1200 word essay. Even though it was difficult to find ways to continue explaining how being able to read and write affects my life, I kinda liked it. However, I didn't like it because I had to talk about myself and I don't really like doing so. Though I did like that I was writing and telling a story.…

Academically, I yearn to immerse myself into the field of nursing. When inquiring about Stockton to people who attend and were accepted into the program, I got nothing but positive feedback. From the great faculty who accommodate to the students’ needs and are passionate about what they do, to the advanced nursing facilities which allow for a broadened learning experience, I also believe going to Stockton will help me with my academic goals because of its perfect and convenient location. Stockton University is close to both AtlantiCare campuses, which will be optimal for nursing clinicals and potential job opportunities. In many universities with medical programs, clinicals could be an hour or two away from the campus, but Stockton neighbors various medical facilities; exposure to the nursing field will be no problem at Stockton.…

Writers statement My narrative is called Rumours and it’s intended audience is for people aged thirteen and over because of the mild alcohol references used in the story. The purpose of this story is very subtle but is intended to say that people can change no matter what their past was like. I created my narrative the way I did because I wanted it to be relatable to teenagers but still show the difference between bad behaviour and good behaviour. For example, Addison Taylor doing the right thing, being the protagonist and Sydney Grace being the antagonist doing the wrong thing. I called my narrative Rumours because teenagers are generally interested in gossip and rumours in within their friend groups so I thought that it would attract teenage…
