Personal Narrative: My Road Trip To Nashville

Great Essays
It was spring break 2015 and my family decided we were going to take our first long road trip! We knew we had to drive a total of almost 17 hours so we made the decision to get up in the middle of the night to start our trip. We were on the road at 3:30am to get through Chicago without any traffic. It was dark and cold as we started out. We breezed through the windy city and headed to Indiana. By now the sun was starting to rise and we were all waking up. The ride so far had been very rainy and foggy. I was hoping that things would start to get warm and sunny as we continued our trip south.

About eight and ½ hours after we first left we arrived at our first stop along our road trip, Nashville! It was a sunny day in Nashville, TN as you could hear country music everywhere. We had never been to Nashville and wanted to explore the city. My family had planned to spend two nights here before we headed back on the road to Destin. We spent time touring the downtown music area and

I have been to Florida many times but I had never been to a beach as beautiful as this. The sand was almost snow white. It was so fine and soft it was like powder. The water was an emerald green and crystal clear. You could feel the salty air. As I got on the wave for the first time, the board snapped and I was tumbling in the water. I walked back to shore and explained what happened. I looked at the board and there was only half of it there. The next day my dad went out and bought me a new one. It was black and green but it was kind of small. I broke this one later that day. After I broke that second one, my dad went out and bought me a good one. This one was plastic instead of styrofoam. It was silver and shiny. Right away I took it out in the ocean and it was already much better. I was able to ride the wild surf straight to the beach. The rush of the water was a blast! I did this for a while and got ready for

The Midwest is home to states with rich cultural backgrounds and popular tourist attractions. To take a break from the busy schedule I have as a student, and to avoid writing more essays like this, I went on a vacation to Michigan with my mother and two siblings. We visited South Haven, a pleasant port city on Lake Michigan’s east coast, and Detroit, the famous largest city in Michigan. These areas interest me because there’s plenty to do; there are amazing restaurants, breath-taking scenery, and family-friendly, inexpensive entertainment. South Haven is famed for its relaxed atmosphere and homely feel.…

Coming to Houston from a country where opportunities are very limited and economy is a challenge for the youthful, has made the last two years a little rough and hopeful at the same time for me and my family. Therefore, school is the most important in my life, after my family; I dedicate my time and my efforts to not become just the first professional in my family, but also to be an exemplary person in society thanks to the values that my parents have instilled in me. Before coming to Houston, I studied three years of Industrial Design in Colombia; although I loved my career, I think that I was too young (15 years old) to appreciate what school was providing me and to be sure what I wanted to do in life. Once I got here I understood that what…

Two thousand five hundred eighty-seven. I could take an eight-hour flight or a casual thirty-seven-hour drive, but no matter what, I am still two thousand five hundred eighty-seven miles away from my home in New Haven, Connecticut. Being a college freshman, trying to juggle class, homework, projects, studying, sleeping, eating, and athletics; finding the travel time to go home is an almost impossible task. Add in the cost of the $600 flights round trip and there is no chance a student can go visit home when they feel a little homesick. I on the other hand had never even fathomed being homesick from the frozen tundra I called home.…

Over the summer, my family continued our long tradition of visiting the Wisconsin State Fair to enjoy everything it had to offer. Whenever we go the the fair, the mornings are pretty rough. My parents, who insist on getting there as soon as possible, woke up us children just as the sun was rising. We groggily awoke, got dressed, and went on our way. The most interesting part of the drive, was finding a place to park.…

It was the summer of 2007, and my parents thought that it would be a brilliant idea to go on a family road trip to some unknown location. This was the summer before I started high school and I wasn’t in the family bonding mood for a day let alone two weeks. With me being an only child, grandchild, and great grandchild, I was the only kid with five adults in a minivan. Why my parents thought that this was a good idea is still beyond my imagination.…
