Roadtrip To Miami

Staying your whole life in one place is pretty boring, my very first road trip was about a year ago the first of August. I remember it was a week before school started. We traveled from Kansas City Mo all the way to Miami, I went to Miami with my family which were my mom, dad, brother, aunt, uncle, cousin, grandma, grandpa and my boyfriend traveled with us as well. The reason for the whole trip idea was because my grandma and grandpa were going to the Miami airport to go visit their homeland Cuba, so we all decided to go as a family and spend two weeks there. Miami was a lot of fun even though we didn't do very much exciting things. Not only did we travel to the heart of Miami but we also went to the Tampa FL area aswell, there we went to many beaches one of them being called Clearwater Beach. I mean the name alone says it all it was absolutely amazing to me because of the fact that i've never traveled out of KC and i didn't know what to expect from beaches but it was so beautiful. As i arrived to the beach I knew right away I was going to love it, seeing everyone in there little tent that the beach rents you was so cute. When my toes touched the sand I was in complete “awe” feeling that soft warm sensation between my toes was so amazing . As I got close to

At this location there were tons of jellyfish in and out of the water, some where washed up on shore and just I assume died there. While we were in the water searching for shells my grandpa yells out a loud “ouch” and saw that a jellyfish had stung him. I was so curious that I went up to one of the jellyfishes washed up at shore and decided to touch it. I wanted to see how it actually felt like, so I picked one up that was obiously dead lying on shore. It felt like a very thick jello almost like a gummie bear it was so cool for me to actually experience something like

Florida is a land of sun palm trees and sand. Florida being a southern state with sweet tea, Publix, and Disney just a few hours away, had many perks. I had never thought of what it might be like to grow up in a northern area, or just even outside of Florida. Up until my 14th summer I had always assumed everyone lived the same way I did. It had all started when I got accepted to a summer program in Washington D.C to attend a medical forum.…

Often times students go to sunny Florida and that was exactly where I was headed for the week. Not only flying for the first time but this would also be my first time in Florida. I was so excited I might have made the teachers want spring break just as bad as I did.…

I parasailed with my mother and sister. Parasailing is when you’re in a harness connected to a parachute, which is also connected to a boat. When the boat speeds up, you’re lifted up into the sky. While we were up there we saw a Cow-shoe Stingray! From the top view of the ocean the water seemed aquamarine rather than blue.…

The five hours drive in Pensacola was the longest five hours drive in all the traveling I’ve done. When my dad was driving to Pensacola I felt nervous doing to much thinking but my dad gave me encouragement saying just do me. My games in Pensacola were bad to me because I didn’t have any points, I think I’m the only one on my team who had zero points the whole weekend. I barely had any playing time even when I did a good job on both ends of the court. Most people say it’s not all about points but it is about points because how can you win with zero points it’s impossible.…

I loved the trip to Atlanta, Georgia I took with my mom’s side of the family. First I went to the Atlanta mall. There, we tramped through variety stores, and we watched Vacation in a wicked movie theater. Then, we rode a shuttle to my cousin’s beautiful wedding and elegant reception. The reception was full of caterers, amazing food, a drink bar, desserts, and a lot of other amazing stuff.…

I was in a deep sleep dreaming about my life until BOOM, my mom came in and told me to wake up. I was walking to the bathroom like a zombie to the bathroom brushing my teeth, taking a shower, and changing my clothes. We had to get to the airport as quickly as possible, because our flight leaves at five o’clock in the morning. Even though I was mad doing this I still enjoyed it because we were on our way to Florida!!This is great practice because one day I will have to do this again.…

“Miami isn’t too far; it is ninety-five miles away at the most…” Her cherubic features made it hard to fabricate an excuse for wanting to stay in Cuba. I knew that staying here, staying in poverty, predisposed me to a life of misery. The journey would be perilous and I wondered if it was worth it. I wanted to convince her to condone the actions of the corrupt government.…

More to Miami Miami-Dade County were the three words that lit up on my dad’s dashboard as we merged left for the exit to Miami, Florida. The bright sunshine shone through my window, cascading vibrantly from the sky. Within a second, I had spotted the giant urban skyline that was Miami. My headphones were plugged in, as music serenaded my curiosity of the famous city. Meanwhile, we grew closer and closer to the landmark.…

I remember walking on the beach barefoot, the beach having a multitude of shells all along the shore and on the sand. There was not a patch of soft sand around, and I had to make my way through the shells to get to where I was going, which was down the shore of the beach. I walked maybe one mile before I turned around, my feet all cut up and red from the shells. I picked up some of the shells that looked special and different from the rest, and felt their different textures as I looked at them and turned them around in my hands. Some of them I even decided to keep.…
