I wasn’t overly excited about taking English 102 this semester and often felt overwhelmed by the writing assignments. As a writer, I find it very difficult to express my thoughts and feelings on paper. However, over the last several months, I can see how the progress in my writing style has changed. With the knowledge of research and analyzing, the overall structure of arranging details and facts within my assignments have developed throughout this course. I believe using evidence to create specific ideas, and my own personal interest in fantasy football, has been the elements that’s helped the most in changing my ability to write more effectively.
My participation in virtual communities has had a positive impact on my writing process. I used various types of technology to formulate my projects for this class. The Easel.ly multimedia website was very useful in creating my infographic. This activity enhanced my writing ability by simplifying complex information and turning it into something easy to understand with the use of visual aids. Another example of my writing progress was during the interview process. The interview and artifact write up during class, as well as, the dialogue I had with my brother and several of his fantasy football league members earlier this month, helped with my listening and note taking skills. Technology has made life easier to get information and to connect with other fantasy football insiders.
