Clarence, I agree with you completely that older generations follow the motto “a hard day’s work for an honest day’s pay”. I work with a few older employees and they work 5x harder than some of the younger employees I work with. I also received a 35 on my EI test which I was not surprised of either. I have a very high work ethic and have very little time for play in my job. I do need to learn to put myself in others shoes; sometimes this is very hard for me to do.…

The best, most positive supervisor experience I had was the first job after graduating with my BSW. I was an AmeriCorps member at a family resource center that served a small community. It provided support to families, teens, and children. My supervisor had started the program many years earlier and was well liked in the community. She provided the best feedback on groups I was running and also asked for my feedback on things she was doing.…

Work experience that impacted me was after I had graduated from the University of Florida, I worked at a medical office as a receptionist. I jumped right into a job because I wanted to get more experience since I wanted to pursue a career in the medical field. The reason why I left the job after a year because I felt like I wasn’t learning anymore in my position and that I no longer want to pursue a career in the medical field. My experience on the job was overwhelming due to the long hours and non-acknowledgment of the hard work. I unquestionably need an occupation where there is a balance between work and personal life.…

In my short 21 years, I have had three jobs working in restaurants, each one different from the last. I hope to someday earn a degree in hospitality management and own a small hotel or restaurant. One thing that is a constant in all jobs, no matter where you work or who you work with is the idea of professionalism. I was given a crash course in professionalism when I worked at McDonald’s, but it was not until my next job that I realized just how valuable that lesson was to me and my future. I am the middle child of 5.…

Now that I have shared my personal experience, it should now be clear on how my own experience can truly connects to the opening concepts each author seemingly focuses on. Of course, one should also understand how the differing factors that lead to such personal experiences also connect to the main concept terms. When it comes to Rall, it would probably all started during my senior year in Pasadena High School, where I was engulfed by the United States’ primary elections. This was due to my AP Government course, as I would have to watch the news every day and see what is going on with our current politics outside the classroom. This all eventually led to the discovery of one radical Republican candidate, Donald J. Trump.…

Throughout the second half of this semester, I spent some time doing Homeschool PE once a week to complete my field experience hours. I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this experience, but I ended up really enjoying it. As a whole, over the past eight weeks, I learned how to be a more effective teacher. To begin, I found that dealing with a group of students who are a wide variety of ages isn’t always easy. One strategy that worked great in overcoming this challenge was the use of stations.…

As the LA “pride” weekend is approaching, I thought it would be a great opportunity to expose myself in the situation. Though I created one contingency for this experiential project, and it was to think of myself as someone who belongs to this LGBTQ population rather than thinking of myself as a supporter for these individuals. Even though I created my own contingency, the thoughts that I am not visiting Los Angeles just to have fun but rather to show my pride of whom I am (supposed to be) made my heart heavy. Perhaps, part of the reason for which I had a difficult time may be due to the false identification, as which I simply imagined to present myself. As a consequence, I have not gone through the processes depicted in the Cass Model.…

It matters most that I leave a legacy for my baby brother. As a first-generation American, I resonate with the stories of seeking a better life and building a legacy for my family and community, paving a way that has often never been seen within my family. For 13 years, I grew up with my mother, father, and older brother. We routinely went to Savannah, GA every Thanksgiving to visit my mom’s family, but there was one holiday visit that was unforgettable. The day before Thanksgiving there were eight of us sitting at the dinner table when my parents informed us that next year we would need to add another chair to the table.…

As an incoming college freshman, I was very nervous with how I was going to handle school, soccer, and settling in to a completely new environment from home. I realized how difficult this can be for many new college students, and to try and avoid the struggles I may face, I set goals to help motivate me through these obstacles. My personal and professional goals for this school year are highly achievable, as long as I work hard and put in the effort needed. My Psychological Experience When I decided to go back to school, I had no plans of perusing a psychology degree, I just left a large tech company and gained some experience analyzing, creating, and manipulating data. I found myself enjoying the work a great deal, but knew if I was going to do that kind of work as a career I needed to go to school to do so. My initial plan was to get a degree in data base administration when I started at Bellevue collage in Bellevue Washington, but as I worked through the course work I found I had little interest in the material and felt very much out of place amongst my fellow students. Interestingly, while I was taking the technical classes, I took an intro to psychology course to fill an elective and…

Be a Professional Merriam-Webster definition of teacher is as a person or thing that teaches something; especially: a person whose job is to teach students about certain subjects. What the word teacher means to me is so much more. I view teachers as a modern day super hero, if you will. They not only teach students in a classroom but they are also the voice for those that do not know how to speak for themselves.…

If I could use any word to describe my mindset, I would use the word "motivated. " I know that I will succeed in the Medical field because whenever I set my mind to something, I go out of my way to complete it. I have always wanted to help people both directly and indirectly. I donate plenty of blood every year, I raise money for the red cross, and I even helped design and submit a project that would allow multiple communities in Haiti to have access to clean drinking water. I really believe that the best way for me to help people is by becoming a doctor and saving lives.…

After my brother died, even though I had not seen or spoken to my mother or my brother in years, when she called and said she needed help, my kids and I helped her to get my brother’s personal things, pictures, letters etc. out of his apartment. When it was done, she walked up to me, wrapped her arms around me, and whispered in my ear, that she “loved me and didn’t know what she would have done without me and that she never wanted to see or hear from me again because it was too painful for her.” She walked away, got in the car with a friend of hers and went off to live in a retirement community in Petaluma. My mom was born in 1921 so I am assuming that she has died, but she might still be alive.…
