Personal Narrative: My Play

Improved Essays
It was 12:00 in the morning I had just woken up because it was so hot in the room because I had no a/c so I went over to the window and saw my basketball as I opened the window, so I walked back to bed and immediately I was dreaming about Basketball and why I love to play. I play to desolate my thoughts. I play to to hear the heavy footsteps of people running behind me trying to catch me. I play for the many “swishes” going through the white meshy net. I play knowing I can have fun. I play knowing I can be injured. I play to hear the applause of the crowd. I play out of myself and into my questions. I play to remember. I play to forget. I play because it is my home away from home. I play to be there all day. I play to be there once in while.

Being so young when I first started playing, winning and losing did not matter at all. As long as I got to throw, hit, and catch the ball, I was happy.…
