Much of what a person will become in their life is rooted in their experiences where they were raised. Depending on one’s surroundings, he or she may live two very different lives but they would be considered normal in their area, or place in which they are from. One’s dialect can usually give away where they are from, and nobody can help the way the speak because they are influenced from those they were around and with whom they interacted with. The interests of someone greatly depends on their surroundings and the culture that is relevant to that area. Being roughly an hour away from Boston makes people really enjoy rooting for the New England teams, especially after their decade of dominance. That got me into sports, just not rooting for those teams, but I was still influenced from the people around me taking an interest in them as well. I began playing baseball when I was five because that is what everyone tended to do. I did not have a choice in the matter but I ended up loving the sport and still continue to play it because Rhode Island takes pride in its baseball program and expects kids to pick up the game. I am accustomed to spending the summer at the beaches and taking advantage of the warm weather as winters are known to be quite harsh. The skills I have learned to deal with the constantly changing weather are unique to Rhode Island, as the place where I grew up shaped me for a certain environment which makes me consider that place to be where I am
