Furthermore, I had decided to take what I thought was a life skills class like the electives I had previously taken in middle school, but I walked into my FACS Essentials class fifth period and it did not meet my expectations. I have competed within the club at all three levels, regional, state, and national. These years of being a chapter and region officer have helped me develop my leadership skills and public speaking skills, but to me, it was much more than that. I had created a family with an organization that I love and I also found what I wanted to do for a career in the future. FCCLA gave me an identity, a career path, and a middle room that would eventually become my lunchroom. All things considered, my FCCLA advisors, Ms. Goggin and Mrs. Goodpaster have guided me to a career path that involves many things that I love, FCS Education.
In the future, I am considering an undergraduate degree in FCS Education. My love for FCCLA and the curriculum that FCS involves has inspired my future in teaching. Looking back on my career in FCCLA, I realize how much I will miss being so involved in the club. FCCLA gave me many opportunities to travel the United States to meet other individuals that have the same interests as me and the opportunity to find my future in FCS
