Also, when it is time for anything that has to do with marching, some people, mostly freshman, walk. They don’t march, they WALK. I don’t …show more content…
Mr. Lesick would be giving instructions and he would blow his whistle to get everyone to be quiet and the drummers would still be playing and not paying attention. I am not the only one that gets mad at them, though. Another thing is that the middle school and freshman choir have to share the band room with the band. One day the band room would look spotless and the next day it would look destroyed. Chairs not in their rows, papers everywhere, stands not where they are supposed to be, and the whole band room is a huge mess. They don’t even bother to pick up their mess and it just sent a trigger in my head that makes me want to explode. Every day there is always something different about the band room because of how it looks, so there is always a problem trying to get a chair and stand for everyone. Just ridiculous. So, whenever someone is trying to help you, don’t be rude, and always show respect for others and their belongings, and listen. Then, someday it will do you good. Don’t be

However, we usually get yelled at on how to improve something, but it just makes everyone get more lazy. All the people who do not care about improving the band, they really upset me because they hold me back because they stop me from letting me get what I need to get done. When I got to Lao Family building, my sister went to get us a chair so we can sit and put our stuff down. The room that they were practicing has no chairs but a small stage and a few small storage room for chairs and a table in the corner. If there wasn’t a stage, it would feel like a small empty gym. The stage has a huge picture of our Hmong president General Vang Pao hanging on the wall.…

Ever since I joined band in 4th grade, people have been talking about how excited they were to join marching band. At band day in 5th and 6th grade, everyone else shared how they couldn't wait until they were a 9th grader and could finally be able to perform and play in the stands like we saw the marching band do many times. In 7th and 8th grade, we had a watered down version of marching band that only played two parades. While I was glad to get snare drum both years, the exhilaration was never there, and I came very close to not joining marching band. But against my will, I ended up auditioning for drumline in April and I got the cymbals.…

When I was growing up and my brother attended high school, I always enjoyed going to Friday night football games and watching the best part of the game: the halftime show. While I sat in the stands, my brother would be marching sets, creating intricate formations and blasting his trumpet at fortissimo. I dreamed to be a part of the sets of formations and play difficult music at rapid tempos. Once I entered middle school, I immediately signed up for band and assigned to play the oboe, a woodwind instrument in the double reed family and, arguably, one of the most difficult instruments to master. I didn’t know then, but I later found out that this activity would push me out of my comfort zone and learn not only challenging sonatas and melodies, but also life skills I would need to achieve my goals.…

I was the stage manager and a performer in two sections of the show. I needed to make sure that everyone had their music, choreography or act ready before rehearsal. I also had to make sure that what ever they wear was school appropriate, even if the outfit was from the original part of that culture. I still sure things were still happening even if I couldn’t be at a certain time and place for illness reasons. One of the generalities about the band is that we are ambitious towards reaching goals yet lackadaisical towards giving the necessary work. We hope to have a productive rehearsal, yet talk for most of its duration. People, thinking they are leaders, yell for everyone to “help the pit!” yet do not help them themselves. As a band, we expect others to accomplish our goals for us.…
