Personal Narrative: My Personal Values

Decent Essays
My personal value was being social. It states that people that are social are kind, sympathetic, and helpful towards others. I think that this value best describes me because its incorporated into my life today. I'm only 29 years old but I have had my share of struggles that I have overcome. Some were harder than others but I always made a way.

This very reason is why I like to help others because nobody was ever with me during my struggles so I like to help people when I can because I know how it feels to not have anyone. My mom wasn’t always around for me so I had to do a lot of things on my own. Honestly I think that's were me wanting to help people are rooted from! The world would become a better place if people were so willing to help

There are a couple of obstacles that have played a major role in me becoming who I am today. I've had naysayers trying to negatively influence my thoughts, and crush my dreams by saying that said I will never amount to anything, or that I should give up on my dreams and get realistic with my goals. A couple years ago I was a completely different person. I was out of shape physically, my academic performance was very poor, and I had a terrible attitude. I improved greatly in athletics and my academic career.…
