My first class of the day for my first semester of high school was an advanced placement math class. Here’s where it gets really scary, the classroom was painted like Bikini Bottom (the home of Spongebob the cartoon character). All the walls were dark blue with green algae and white bubbles painted all over the walls, the chairs were painted as well in a bright yellow. Upon first entering the class I thought this could be a great thing, maybe an interactive class, a little more engaging and fun. On the contrary, the class was very difficult and I missed a lot of days due to playing academic sports and having to miss certain hours or days of school to go on road trips. On a daily basis we followed the same procedure, come into class, sit down, and take notes from the time the bell rang to the time the last minute passed. No talking, no group help, no interactions besides when absolutely necessary. Inevitably I ended up failing my first class in the history of my education and I was devastated, I thought I was never going to make up that GPA or get into a good college or an advanced math class ever
