I do not plan on transferring as most of my friends have, but I will to push myself to be proud of my decision I have made to stay at BC. I have gained, experience, knowledge, lost, and understand most things that I have been exposed to in my twenty years of life. One goal I have is pass the GKE (General Knowledge Exam). The first step would be to fully understand what the GKE is and what kind of tests I need to do to pass this exam. The second step would be to study as much as possible to ensure a passing score. Additionally, I would probably form a study group with friends who are in the same boat as me and need to pass this exam. Finally, I would need to not over stress. I know sometimes, I can get a little frantic and start get overwhelmed with a lot of stress, but with not stressing I can make sure I can push myself to my fullest potential. A strategy I am going to use if I do not pass the GKE, is to not get emotionally, …show more content…
My personal learning style is kinesthetic. I like to have a feel for the particular assignment. For example, when I was in elementary school, I remember one of my teacher was explaining math and for some reason I was not getting it. My teacher pulled me aside and told me, “How about you use some blocks to explain the problem?” When I was a little girl, I used to build large towers in my room. Therefore, my teacher explained to me I was a kinesthetic learning I have a sense of feeling of it and seeing it visually instead of it just being auditory. I can use my learning style in college because when I am unsure of what the professor may ask, I may ask her to draw a picture when explaining. Most professors, I know are visual learners, thus most of their lessons are all in PowerPoint or they use the Smart Board when teaching. Overall, the professors at Broward College are very understanding. They recognize that every student learns a different and I really appreciate the different learning styles they

My classroom procedures are very clear, which the class has become familiar with over the semester. Students are to come in from their special class and grab their materials and go sit on the carpet and get ready for math to begin. These are expectations that should be memorized by now. Many of them do this and it contributes to the flow of the classroom and the engagement level of the entire groups. According to The Vark learning styles questionnaire the two learning styles that I learn best with best are aural and kinesthetic. Aural means I learn best when hearing the information spoken and by asking questions about the concept I am learning. The other way I learn best is being kinesthetic which means I use my five senses and hands on experiences to help me learn. The Aural side of me likes to remember stories, examples, and jokes, to be to relate them to the concept I am learning. Since starting high school, my interest in classroom learning had dropped quite significantly. I felt like grades were just a game, and that I should be out in the world learning things I deemed "practical life skills." My senior year I was able to mentor in a classroom of fourth graders for one period, ever other day. I took the class thinking it would be an easy and fun way to spend an hour an a half.…

Some of the most important things I have learned were how to manage time and how to be an active reader. Before learning how to manage my time, I would easily get distracted and procrastinate but now I have learned how to get everything done in a timely manner. Also, before the course I would struggle to comprehend what my textbook said but thanks to the course, I now spend the time to reevaluate what I am reading to fully understand the material. Other helpful lessons I have learned from this class were how to take good, helpful notes and what kind of learner I am.…

I remember when I was 5, the first time I went to a building daily for 8 hours. I sat down on the cold blue chair. In front of me was a bin of crayons, all the colors of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and purple. I remember sitting in the cold room and having the freedom to draw marks on my blank sheet of paper. The dye scratching against the table, colors spreading across the canvas like the sun, rising in the early morning.…

Kinesthetic learning is learning through experience from the application of your senses. I apply the kinesthetic learning style when it is available, such as labs for science, or on the job training. For myself this is the learning style where I can comprehend and understand the most as I will more likely be able to remember the experience. While the aural learning style is available to be used widely, kinesthetic learning is less broad. As a narrower field, it cannot always be practical to some things such as reading, or…
