Personal Narrative: My Passion To Become The Best Sport

To understand me you must understand my passion for volleyball. The last eight years of my life have been filled with training in what I would consider to be the best sport. I played at the varsity level all four years for my high school career and the school off-season was filled with club volleyball. My passion for this sport has left me with many bruises, a few concussions and hundreds of great memories! I love the rush of a win and I cry with each defeat but as in life, every loss is a lesson. My high school career was filled with highs and lows as we all learned how to play as a team but it came to an amazing final year in which we walked away with our heads held high.

In high school, it can seem like the most important thing in life. I, fortunately, was involved in many other activities to fill up my time. I could not play volleyball my sophomore or junior year. This really upset me because I love the sport. Sports have been such an influential part of my life thus far. I have been extremely fortunate to have had parents in my life that have been able to support me and sacrifice their time so that I could have had the opportunity to partake in a variety of sports growing up. Through my participation in some of my most cherished sports, such as soccer and basketball, I have made long-lasting friendships with teammates and coaches and also learned acutely valuable lessons that I will be able to take with me once I begin my professional career. One critical lesson I have learned from the teachings through sport is the value of hard work and practice/dedication. I learned this lesson from my father rather than a coach.…
