Personal Narrative: My Passion Of Running

Decent Essays
Running is my key to relieving, it's something that meant nothing to me at first and it now my passion. I run not only for myself but for my fallen ones; the loved one I lost throughout my life. My motivation is intrinsic, it all comes from the inside. I run because I feel connected, I feel whole, and most importantly to make all my loved ones proud. My heart has always been on fire, but along the way the flame extinguished. Like a room without light or a night without moonlight. My heart has been broken, has gone through misery, and at one point almost stopped beating. Until I was introduced to the sport of running, I met new people, and I fell in love with the sport. Running was there for me on my darkest days, as well as my nice shiny days

Chris Linde stated “My job as an athletic trainer is to prevent injuries as much as possible. I also support with strengthening and conditioning, guidance in nutrition and sleeping, and I also make sure the playing area is safe”. When he was young, he always adored being around the athletic trainer. Subsequently being pushed to his limits and fighting through the pain, there was always someone to care for his aches, and pains. I’m starting over again anew something different now. The last run was great while it lasted. Day one back at practice was pretty rough, hitting balls endlessly at the range brought upon old bad habits. It made me realize how far away I was from my former swing, the consistency, strength, and concentration it had brought me. I had now found myself with a rugged backswing and an upbeat tempo.…

My involvement in Basketball and Track has really taught me that if I work hard and strive to do my best, the only outcome is becoming better. I have learned that hard work does and can pay off. During summer of my eighth grade year I was on a summer basketball league, I figured this was the only playing time I would get because the following year I would start as a freshmen. I work hard everyday trying to improve my skills and learning new thing that could help benefit my playing. The following year my coach started noticing how hard I have been working at practice and gave me a few compliments regarding, “nice work today” and“looks like you have been working hard and improving.”…

“Runners on your mark…Set...Poww!” Those were the last sounds I heard during what could have been my last race of my sophomore year in collegiate Track and Field. It was a frisky, yet cool Saturday in April and after a strong performance in the previous indoor and outdoor season (4x100m and 400m), I was determined to continue and uphold my strong form on this day. There is a saying that things do not always turn out the way we hope, but I believe, there is always a positive lesson to be learned from every life event. I love sports.…
