I think my reading has improved because I use better vocabulary and I can understand what I am reading. The reading strategies have helped me to become a better reader. I still rely on DJE, T2T like I did when I took basic reading as well. They are very helpful strategies that help me to read better and think about what I am reading. When I was a little girl I use to hate reading, it’s not that it was hard I just didn’t want to take the time to read and build up my knowledge. I was the opposite child in school all the kids could read the small basic words and not the hard big words; as for me I was the opposite I could read the hard big words and not the small basic words. By simply having the pleasure of spending the past month or so with you, I would have never known about the part of your life that you wrote so passionately about in your literacy narrative. I often find it so intriguing that everyone has a story that resonates so deeply with him or her. For most students, the moment the bell rings for summer, they never speak to their teachers again. Usually this applies to me as well, but last year, it didn't. Ms. Dirmeyer, my 7th grade Language Arts teacher, still keeps in touch with me, even though she’s not my teacher anymore. During and after the group project I got a better understanding of NAVAL and a better understanding of my group. For example, Lexi is the leader of the group and Camille is the worker bee meaning that she is the one to go to for the information about the presentation.
