My Own Sustainable Town Every town has its own characteristics, making it different from other town. I am living in my own town and I have a responsibility to save and protect it. As citizens in our village, we need to protect and make it grow. The necessity, we need to save right now is natural resources (water, trees, etc). Because water is a limited resource, if people continue to waste it, there wont be enough water for the town in one day, and people could die because of it. My own town is a small island in Asia. It’s between Taiwan and the Philippines. Around the town is a beach. The climate of the town is tropical. Allowing, people to enjoy the cool weather without being hot or cold. Because the location of the town is between the oceans, there are a lot of travelers that come. So, the citizens do business to make money. They sell foods, service travellers. Their incomes are based on travellers. Because the weather is almost the same year around, so people make stable income. We import many goods from the other countries, such as home tools, furniture, or many supplies for schools and hospitals. The town has enough schools for any level, such as elementary school, middle school, high school, college, and university for the citizens. Elementary school, middle school and high school levels are all taught at one school. The college and university are at the same school, and we do have skills school. How can people lives without water? Water is the most necessary for people’s daily life. We use water for cooking, drinking, washing and watering. Seventy percent of the human body is water; people could die when they don’t drink water in three to five days. We can see the importance of water in our lives. We are living in the town which limit water, so what can we do to save water? To solve the water problem, the government sells an expensive water purifier from another country, also they will build one lake which dirty water flows into the lake, and then the water purifier will make water clean, and served for people. Also, the price of water isn’t cheap as the prices of the gas. The government thought that the ways to make people save and not waste the water are raising the price. When the price is too expensive, people will save and do not waste the water anymore. We are planting lots of tree in the town, but people don’t have worry about watering the trees. Because the government already covers it, they made a system watering of tree. Every day, they set up the time to watering tree, and they are for free. Every household has a limit amount using water base on the number of people in the house. If they use over limit amount of water, the charged will very expensive. So, it’s a smart way to prevent people wasting
