Personal Narrative: My One Day

Great Essays
One day, Amelia came home from school happy as ever. Amelia is known to always be happy and positive. She is rarely mad or upset and is a very intelligent girl. She has brown curly hair and her curls are the perfect curls that fall just right. Amelia has the perfect figure not short, but no too tall and she is skinny, but not too skinny. Amelia has the soft voice that couldn’t scare anything, not even a mouse. She was smiling from ear to ear when she came running up the steps to her house and said, “Hi mom, tomorrow I am volunteering at Pap’s Puppy Wash!” “That’s great honey! Are you only volunteering there one day?” “Nope, it’s a three week volunteer rotation. I am so beyond excited, I get to work with puppies every single day!” exclaimed …show more content…
They started unpacking right away. Amelia ran up to where her parents said her room was. She wasn’t excited at all; her room was about half the size as her previous room, it was her least favorite color neon green, and the closet would never fit all of her clothes. She ignored all of the negative aspects and started planning out where she was going to put all of her belongings. The nightstand was going to go in the corner by the window on the east side of her room. Her bed was going to go to the right of the nightstand on the biggest wall. She was going to repaint her room a soft tropical blue, and her dresser was going to be parallel to her bed on the opposite wall. She started getting eager to design her room.
The next few weeks Amelia got settled into the new town and was feeling better about Boston. She realized she needed to get back to volunteering, since she has taken a few weeks off. She went walking around the town to see if there was anything that needed to be helped. When she was walking, she had found a homeless man. She had walked up to him and asked,
“Hello my name is Amelia, I am new to Boston and I was wondering if I could sit by you for a little bit.”
The man sitting on the curb with his sleeping bag and poor conditioned clothing announced, “Of course you can my dear, my name is Eddie.”
“Well hello Eddie, how has your day been so far? Questioned Amelia

Amelia immediately ran in the doors and went right to the counter. Luke, the owner of the soup kitchen asked, “How may I help you?” “I don’t need any food; I’m just looking for the owner I would like to volunteer here.” Mentioned Amelia looking around the place. “Well, good news I am the owner and my name is Luke.” “Hi, I’m Amelia and how soon would I be able to start? I have a goal of volunteering at one hundred different places by the time I am a senior.” “That’s a very good goal, I wish there were more high school students that had that goal; you could start in about two weeks, you would have to have your parents sign a permission slip and then you will also need an interview.” “Ok, do you have the permission slip that I could take home to have my parents sign?” “Of course!” Amelia got the permission slip and headed home. She wanted her parents to sign it right away, so she could drop it back off after school the next day. Amelia was beyond excited to have already found a place to volunteer. When she got home she ran and told her mom the news right away, “Mom! Mom! Guess what?” she exclaimed. “What?” “I found a place to volunteer!” Amelia said, while dancing around the
