Personal Narrative: My Observation Of Jaelee

Improved Essays
For my second reading observation I want to start off by changing my introduction of Jaelee. I had a chance to meet and talk to Jaelee’s mother for the first time and found out the information Jaelee’s father had provided me was incorrect. Jaelee is not diagnosed with A.D.H.D the doctors that have seen her feel that there is a big possibility she might have A.D.H.D. but have not diagnosed her with the disorder. Her mother told me that when Jaelee was three years old she was diagnosed with having O.D.D which stands for Oppositional defiant disorder. Oppositional defiant disorder is a pattern of angry/irritable mood, argumentative/defiant behavior or vindictiveness towards authority figures. Doctors recommended that Jaelee take medication for …show more content…
I asked her how she knew that it was her mailbox and she said it’s because it has her name on it and pointed to her name. During free time she took me over to the writing area in her classroom and on a post it she wrote her name. From what I observed Jaelee has inventive spelling, she can write her J and L fine but when she writes her A’s it looks like a Q and her E are backwards and upside down. Jaelee wanted to write my name so she asked me what my name was and how to spell it. I told her it is P.J and all she had to write is P and J, Jaelee replayed “I don’t know how to write P” so I wort my name down for her. But Jaelee said she can’t do it and lost interest and wanted to do something else. Jaelee and I went out in the playground and I watched her play on the slide and run around and have fun. Jaelee wanted me to stay next to her the whole time and while we were walking around I noticed a sign that read “Germ Fighter Club”. I asked Jaelee if she could read the sign she said no, so I asked her if I point at a letter could she tell what letter it was, she said ok. So I pointed to the G and Jaelee did not know what letter that was. I asked her to point to the letters that she does know and say what they are. She knew the E’S the M and the F. I also found a piece of paper that had the numbers one through ten on it, and asked Jaelee if she could tell what the paper said. She could count just fine every number without a problem. Jaelee took some calk and wrote E.T. on the ground with no problems as

I’ve usually learned in hard way because frankly, I love to challenge myself to expand my personal capacity. Although I had already talked to one of my classmates about having interview with her as a Caucasian woman, I decided to do it with my cousin’s friend, Jacob, who I met in my place for the first time during Thanksgiving holidays. Interviewing Jacob about his interactions with other cultures has made me realize that I have a lot to learn about the meaning of the privilege and holding it. Jacob was a 24-year-old Caucasian, who lived in Missouri his entire life. Though he was visiting California for the second time in his life, he was in a Persian house for the first time.…

As a child growing up in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, the idea of a vast planet brimming with civilization and culture was more like something out of a fairy tale than it was reality. So, when my father announced that we would be leaving the country to go to Scotland, the home of his and my ancestors, my world began to expand at a rapid pace. This trip could not have been timed more perfectly. The summer of 2007 marked the end of fourth grade, my first year at Saint Mary Academy Bay View.…

I couldn’t let everyone see how upset I was, so I hid my emotions behind a fake smile that no one ever knew existed. That is where all my problems started; something started to grow inside of me like an embryo of a new unborn child. Slowly but surely I sank into a dark abyss of depression.…
