Personal Narrative: My Observation Of A Women's Soccer Team

I did my observation at Miami’s women’s soccer game on September 6 against Florida International’s team. It also happened to be Senior Day, so a lot of families were there. There were also a lot of young girls wearing soccer jerseys, which makes me think that a soccer team was there. It was a very hot (around 90 degrees) and sunny afternoon, and a lot of people were sitting with umbrellas to block the sun. Both teams played very hard, but neither team scored until the last 9 minutes. Unfortunately, Miami lost 0-1 to Florida International. I observed a young girl who looked about 9-10 years old. She had long blond hair in a ponytail and had glasses. She was wearing a soccer jersey (her own team, not a Miami jersey), capri length leggings and flip flops. Her whole team was at the game as well. …show more content…
She was in the same section as her parents, but they were not sitting very close to them. She was paying attention to the game, but she was also talking to her older brother a fair amount, and was on her phone as well. Her brother and her had a large umbrella that they used to block the sun. At one point, she closed the umbrella and started to poke at her friend who was underneath the bleachers with the top of the umbrella. She was also looking out for her younger sister. Her sister seemed interesting in what was going on underneath the bleachers so she told her friend to catch her sister is she fell. At half time, her siblings and her went and sat by her parents for a while, and then a large group of younger kids started to play with a soccer ball someone brought in a grassy area behind the bleachers. When the second half started, all of the kids continued to play behind the bleachers, only returning to the bleachers when there was only 9 minutes left, and sat by her parents again until the end of the
