Personal Narrative: My Objections To The Ch Department

Decent Essays
Contrary to popular belief, I do in fact have CH experience. I worked in CHC under Xardas back in {DoD} and served as 1stSgt/SgtMaj and Chaplain. While that was some time ago, and things have no doubt changed since then, I have no doubt that the CH department can get me up to scratch. I don't really have any objections to this

We figured that my niece would have to see the error of her ways, get help, take classes, go to group therapy sessions, find a job and conquer her case plan. How long could that possibly take six months? The good news was that my sister who is the children’s Grandmother would be there to help us, getting the babies from daycare and coming home to help out while I juggled homework. We had it all planned out. My father, husband and I took turns taking my niece to her court dates and classes.…

As I mentioned in the previous assignment, I want to increase my baseline 500 steps each week so that by the end of the semester I am recording 10,000 steps which is in the active range. I will continue walking around the property at work and stepping in place whenever I possibly can. I will stick to walking to the mailbox which is two blocks from home as opposed to driving up to it on my way home. If I have days where I am tired I will just give myself another pep talk. I have a pretty good support system thus far so I will lean on them if pushing myself on my own does not cut it.…

When I think about my personal code of ethics I think of the golden rule. Treat others how you would want to be treated. I have had lots of customer service experience which transfers to helping patients. You need to have people skills, good communication skills and all. The way I would bring my code of ethics into my profession would be to respect my co-workers, the patients and anyone I would come in contact with in the professional setting.…

“Throwing Down The Gauntlet On My Life” I’m a junior at Presbyterian Pan American School. I was born in Brownsville, Texas, but since my parents are Mexican nationals, I grew up in San Fernando, Tamaulipas, Mexico. In 2013, my parents told me to “pack your bags” you are going to Kingsville, Texas. I came to Texas three years ago to attend Presbyterian Pan American School (PPAS), a senior private boarding school in Kingsville, Texas, on an academic scholarship. Talking about different aspects of my life is daunting, but it also allows me to come to terms with my growth as an individual by learning from my failures, confronting obstacles such as adapting to new surroundings, and a different educational system, speaking English properly, and adjusting to a real world working environment.…

I managed to reach a point where I began making false promises to myself and others about addressing my situation. Among those empty promises was the one where I claimed I would give up drinking, attend rehab and try to get my life back on track. I would like to believe that I learned my personal ethics from my family more importantly my parents. Growing up my parents thought me many things that had several messages attached to them. Those messages I now use on a daily basis most importantly in my career. One of the ethics that I could remember is to be caring and loyal friend, neighbor, family, or co-worker. Having these two ethicses has guided me to the field of psychology and is still helping me.…

In the Human Services field I am very passionate about working with people in the deaf culture. I am passionate about working with this population because I know American Sign Language and I feel a connection to the community. Learning ASL took a long time and allowed me to be engaged in many events in the deaf community. I believe people in this population are not given nearly as much attention or opportunities as they should be. The lack of equal access to education, jobs, and basic interactions that hearing people take for granted is not fair and puts this population at a disadvantage therefore making it important for people to want to work with this group of people.…

I had the difficult decision of coming to Tyler, Tx with my mom or going to Issaquah, WA with my dad. I began to pack up at the end of the day and my teacher had one last announcement, ‘Tomorrow I would like you all to bring in an object for show and tell. Something that describes you or is very special to you.’ I began my thought, then determined that it was in fact homework and waited until then. Arriving at home I hopped atop my bed and began to think. I knew I could choose any of the items I had accumulated over the years, hopefully something that stood out among the rest of the class.…
