Personal Narrative: My Night In Las Vegas

“Everything and anything you want to do, you can do in Las Vegas” – Drew Carey
Walking on a night in Vegas, you would imagine partying the twenty-four hours ahead of you, or probably go into a casino for the rest of the night. In my case, it was the total opposite. My night in Vegas would be full of adrenaline and pretty sightseeing. From all the cities in the world, I chose Las Vegas to describe because its a city I absolutely adore. A city where you can shut your reality, and go into a total different place where you can let the city bring out the best in you.

As I entered the famous Bellagio hotel, I was absolutely amazed by how luxurious and amazing the hotel appearance was. The hotel’s architecture and design was outstanding. It´s casino

In my building all of my neighbors were older than my parents and a few were even older than my grandparents. Mrs. Garcia was a woman who lived in the apartment under us. “We’re going to Las Vegas!” I heard my mom bellow from upstairs. “ What” I heard myself say, trying not to believe my ears. “We are going to Las Vegas” she repeated, “ Pack up, we’re leaving tomorrow morning!” I didn’t want to go to Las Vegas as it took 7 hours to get there, and back( maybe even 10).…

Sit back, buckle up, and get ready to scream because I love roller coasters. My family and I go to Cedar Point about every month in the summer, and my dad and I go and ride everything in the park. It is just so fun! The one thing I really like about roller coasters is that there are little rides for the youth kids also. My least favorite thing is when I am not tall enough to enjoy a ride, which doesn’t really occur anymore.…

On Thursday, October 12th, I took the opportunity to help at the Agua Caliente Casino’s College Fair event, with the intention that I would also see the schools I intend to apply. While at the event, I saw many colleges and universities with their luring stands’ free candies, pens, and informational brochures. Overall, the schools all had something great to offer; whether it was the small class sizes or amazing student abroad programs. Although universities from as far as Hawaii to Oregon may have grabbed my attention – because of its stunning scenery and programs – I restricted my preferences to California schools. In particular, my eyes lit up when I saw UC Irvine, UC Riverside, CSU Channel Islands, – given that I’ve seen some of these see…

Drunken Escapades Intoxicated adults are extremely difficult to babysit and keep out of trouble; especially, when they cause troubling situations that affect everyone. I learned this while helping my boyfriend, Drew, watch his father while his mother, Rebecca, was at work for the night. At the beginning of the night, around five in the afternoon, my boyfriend, Drew, and I decided to take his father, Scot, to Jefferson’s for dinner. This seemed like a harmless idea.…

One of the first things I remember about going on that trip is looking down at my feet and thinking that I would die if I fell. I was nine and very light-headed at the time. It was the winter of 2009 and one of the first times I had ever gone to Colorado. The drive there took about 6 hours from our house so you can imagine my excitement at finally getting out of the car as an inpatient nine-year-old. We were renting a small two story log cabin with a hot tub on the second- floor balcony from a family that had a winter home somewhere in Florida.…

Two thousand five hundred eighty-seven. I could take an eight-hour flight or a casual thirty-seven-hour drive, but no matter what, I am still two thousand five hundred eighty-seven miles away from my home in New Haven, Connecticut. Being a college freshman, trying to juggle class, homework, projects, studying, sleeping, eating, and athletics; finding the travel time to go home is an almost impossible task. Add in the cost of the $600 flights round trip and there is no chance a student can go visit home when they feel a little homesick. I on the other hand had never even fathomed being homesick from the frozen tundra I called home.…

In January of last year I went on a trip to Colorado on a "college visit" with a friend and my father to University of Colorado Boulder. We left Wednesday night, skipping school both Thursday and Friday. We did go to the college and took a tour of the campus on Thursday which I greatly enjoyed, it is beautiful out there and at elevation there is very little humidity. The true intention of the trip, as important as the college visit was, was to go to Breckenridge Resort and spend the weekend snowboarding. A couple of my dad's friends were also going and we were going to share their timeshare.…

The clock above my head ticks slowly, the sound ever increasing as the minutes pass by; tick, tick, tick. I normally do not notice the time while I work, usually I am the energizer bunny of workers, in early, out late, always working, but that day was different. I had a date; a first date to be exact. Finally the time has come for me to go home; I step out into the warm Vegas air.…

After anxiously waiting about fifteen minutes, our waiter arrived with three beautiful plates. He set down my plate exposing my eyes to three buttermilk pancakes perfectly placed together with a layer of fresh strawberries and a tower of fluffy whipped cream in the middle, sprinkled on top were small bits of nuts and powdered sugar. All I needed now was syrup but what syrup would I choose if there all sounded so good; From Original to Guava to Coconut to Honey Macadamia Nut to Honey Christmas Berry or Honey Rainbow Blossom. They further describe the casino floor as a space that makes visitors confused with time and space. The architecture becomes instrumental in shaping gambling activity through the use of unconventional design principles. Conventional architecture design is traditionally concerned with open space, light and circulation. When designing casinos these conventional methods are no longer applicable as casino architecture is concerned with consumer experience and interested in sculpting the environment to define behavior. In essence the main goal of a designer is to lure visitors to gambling machines or…

In this photograph, a young boy wearing a bubbly bright blue shirt shamelessly flashes a rather tooth lacking smile for the camera. His arms and legs are crossed while he sits on a tiled bench under an ominous and cloud speckled sky. Behind this young boy rests a little girl wearing a tomato red complexion. She is adorned with a shiny silver necklace and a shirt that literally screamed summer. Under her resting hand laid cold tiles that would leave an imprint of the frigid shapes that pressed against her soft skin.…

The Plane Ride When I was nine my family started a move from the tranquil suburbs of San Jose, California to the desert city of Windhoek, Namibia, located in southern Africa. My parents were taking myself, along with my younger sister and brother, around the globe because they felt a calling from God to be missionaries. All of our possessions were sold off, including my much beloved toys, until everything we had could fit into eight large suitcases. These suitcases are what we carried to the airport as we prepared for our journey. I felt no small amount of apprehension and excitement in what lay ahead of me in the new country, but an event I would experience in the coming flight would forever change and shape my perspective of how I see the…
