Since I was born, my mother and I lived in Juarez, in a small house where all the neighbors were friendly. Once we moved, I realized that the neighborhood we moved into was extremely different from what I was used to. The neighbors were not friendly; they were just strangers who lived next to us, so the whole situation was intimidating. Most importantly, I was petrified of the thought of having a man living in the same house I lived in. As a six-year-old girl, I was not fond of living with him at first. My mother and I eventually moved to my grandmother's house in Juarez. There, I had to wake up very early because my mother would take me to school in El Paso. Then, after some time, they got back together, and we had to go back to his house. The environment I lived in caused me to become an independent person because I had to get used to living from one house to the other. When I would stay with my grandmother, the neighbors were so friendly and nice. While with the neighbors from my stepdad's house, I had the chance to live in Juarez and El Paso.
