An achievement that sets me apart from others would be my National Lifeguard Service (NLS) certification, which I attained in the spring of 2015. This credential acknowledges that I have the skills to prevent people from drowning in pools, beaches and lakes, across the nation. It also deems me capable of supervising and overseeing multiple activities, competitions and swimming programs. Some may consider lifeguarding as just another job, but for me, it’s a lifestyle. My competitive swimming background, beginning when I was five years old, has exposed me to multiple situations where lifeguards had to act quickly, efficiently to make accurate decisions based on their knowledge and judgment.
