Throughout high school, I have learned to overcome many challenges, yet I recognize that most of the time I cannot do it by myself. At the start of the school year my NHS advisor stated that she wanted me to direct some sort of relief fundraiser, given that Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico were all devastated by hurricanes. As president, I was eager to make it happen because I, along with a few other members of my NHS, have family in all three locations. However, the main challenge was not getting approval from administration, but rather creating a fundraiser where students would actually donate. Most fundraisers done by previous NHS groups had failed.
