Personal Narrative: My Mousetrap Car

Improved Essays
Day one, my first day of building. Since of my reacherch the previous day, I had an idea forming on how my mousetrap car was going to be build for and look like. I was going to build my car for distance. Use CD’s as the backwheels. Have a longer lever for distance. These were what I was thinking, my idea being having the big cd wheels in the back and because of how thin and their light weight they seemed as if they would work very well for not slowing it down, but of course they would have needed ballowns around them to add a little bit of traction. my idea for what the car was goig to be build as was I planned on hvaing 3 wheels, and have them on there like how you would have the wheels on a trycical, with a leaver at leastslightly larger then the block of wood. Although, even though I did my reserch the previous day I was still confused on many trhings and had and asked …show more content…
My questions i had were How will the wheels effect how the mousetrap car works with big wheels in the front? With big wheels in the back? With all the same size wheels? I found the awnser for this by thinking about it and think of the purpose of the back wheels, and that purpose is to move the car forward, and if you have smaller wheels it will use more enrgy since they will have to rotate more compared to bigger wheels. and as for the front wheels, those are meant to direct and help stabilize the car, so it doesnt exactly rely on size but how stable and secure they are. Althopugh that did not exactly awnser my previous questions it gave me and= idea where to begin with the wheels. The next subjhect I took into consideration ia how long the leaver would be along with where it would have to be placed on the mousetrap. Since I had no idea where it was suppose to go I had to do some more reaserch and and thought about it and discovered that the leaver would have to

Due to the diversity of design decisions, it is non-obvious how to optimally design the system, and at the same time it creates a space for creativity to lead to surprising innovations. Jumper (2012) notes that this involves the application of a combination of related scientific principles, including Newton’s laws, understanding the relationship between potential and kinetic energy, dissipative force, and rotational mechanics (p.…

The first one is implemented for the purpose of obtaining the necessary data for calculating the ride index and the second one is for the purpose of collecting the fundamental parameter values used in the modeling phase of the full-car simulation. Firstly, four convenient vehicles were chosen, namely two of them are medium sedan passenger cars and the other two of them are light commercial vehicles. After choosing the vehicles, another important task is choosing convenient roads. Six roads having different properties (asymmetric traverse, dirt road, paved, highway, test track, and patched road) were chosen for the same purposes as choosing the vehicles. Observing the effect of engine vibrations on the ride comfort and exploring its importance are main purposes of the…
