KELLER: Katie. How many times can you let them break your heart?
KATE: Any number of times. (7)
This was in the beginning of the book when they were just finding out about Helen’s disability, not able to hear or see. To me, this passage means that Kate still has hope, and that she is willing to do everything it takes for Helen to see and hear.
This fall I have experienced a series of injuries. In total, I have missed about 10 weeks of sports. Soccer is my passion. It always has been. I love being out on the field, feeling the morning dew tickling the bottom of my feet. I love the light smell of grass clippings, as it tingle up my nose. After about the first 30 minutes I had ran across the field and back around 50 times. I had paining cramps all over my body, but there was something in me that made me keep on running. My breathing pattern could be heard from all the way across the other side of the field. If I was a dragon, my breath would have lit the whole city of Washington D.C. on fire. I could feel my muscles getting even more tired every step I took. Walking right then, would have felt like I was strolling on a cloud. But I didn’t walk. I kept on running. My key life lessons are that nothing beats hard work and if you treat others with respect, they will generally treat you with respect. Hard work and effort are the main aspects that lead to “lucky” things happening. Good things don’t just fall into people’s laps, the ones that have the most “luck” generally are those that put in the most effort and work. Also, I have learned that when you truly respect those around, they will respect you back and life is much easier when you aren’t doing things behind each other’s backs.…

Core values are the things that inspire us, what we believe is important, and which is significance to us in life. My core values are commitment, fairness and respect for others, and to have trust and love for one another. My most important core value is to have honesty and love. Every Life Matters I really only started understanding the meaning of abortion once one of my mom’s friends had one. Before that I had very little knowledge about abortion. My parents have always taught me to stand by what I believe and that others may have different beliefs. They always told me that I would meet people that would disagree with me and what I believe not only when it came to these kind of topics but many other things as well. Being told that, they told me to always respect people’s beliefs and their points of view because everyone has the right to stand by what they believe, just like I do.…

My strong points as a writer is me being emtional and being descriptive on my writing and I try my best to having good information on what I write when I start telling a story or saying my personal experience about anything that’s connecting to anything that I will write about. The emotional part of my writing I had strong points were my reader would get very touched on anything and I think being emotional would be my strongest point from writing an essay and the second would be being descriptive. In general, what I have learned through my life experiences exercise may not be a priority for the majority of people. Children and teenagers should be getting daily exercise; there are no excuses for them to lead a sedentary life. Young adults in their twenties are usually focused on themselves and their appearance drives them; therefore, the majority achieves their exercise goals. Exercise will probably not be a priority for new parents trying to adjust to the changes they are experiencing now and will continue to experience for the next eighteen years. Their focus will not be on themselves; therefore, allotting time, whether 75 minutes of vigorous or 150 of moderate activity in not likely.…

I am not the best at remembering about my childhood, but the events that stick out to me are probably the most important that helped to shape me into the person I am to this day. First of, I took my first steps at about nine months old and my first word was “mama” at six months old. I grew up with four siblings, me being the smallest and, I was distant from my brothers and sister because they were years apart from me. I grew up in a Hispanic household, and my parents were very loving and restrictive. When I entered pre-kinder, I was a very shy child and would not even be able to stand up in front of the class and sing along to the ABC's.…
