My mind went blank. I did not know what to do. It was as if my whole world was coming down on me at once, and I could not get help. My perfect little family, to everyone else, has been falling off a cliff and now has finally crashed to the ground. The true problems that were hidden to others for years were finally being broadcasted for everyone to see. Overcoming that obstacle was the hardest thing that I have ever had to do in my entire life. Since my parent’s separation, I have become a more fair-minded person and discovered the importance of family.

We sat at the same dining room where they had told me that they were going to separate. I was scared of what I was about say, but I was sure that I had made the right decision. So, I just blurted out," I 'm going to live with mom." You could see the pain and saddest in my dad 's face. As usual, he tried to hide it and act as if he was okay. However, in reality, it made my family stronger and happier. Going through that tough time of my parents’ separating caused me to realize the value of family. How you can have them one minute and the next they could be gone. Not only had that, but it also made me a more fair- minded person as a whole. Thinking about how my parents and siblings must have felt about the situation made me consider other people thoughts and feelings.
