Personal Narrative: My Middle School Writing Career

Decent Essays
I think my middle school writing career overall was not really that big of a deal. I just write because the simple fact that I don’t want to get a bad grade and especially if the assignment was an important factor to my grade and I want to get a decent grade. There's not really much of a story to tell besides, I just wrote because I had no other option but to write. My strengths as a writer are coming up with an interesting or funny story. I believe the weaknesses I need to improve on is I need to write longer stories and i'm a bit lazy sometimes, and the laziness makes my story boring and makes the reader get interested towards the end.
I enjoy writing stories if the story is about a really cool topic like world war 2 I would be really

All throughout my school career, starting all the way in elementary school, school came very easy for me. I found that I rarely had to try hard at anything because it seems like I just knew it. With very little studying I was able to maintain high grades. In middle school I was put in advance math classes and it still wasn't a challenge but then in my junior year of high school things started to get difficult.…

There are good writers and there are good writers who work hard to become better. Mrs. Fiske, my English teacher junior and senior year of high school always told me that I was one of the best writers in my class but I could always be better. Spelling has always been one of my strong suits and I always get bothered when people can’t spell simple words. I’m pretty good at writing essays but I do not enjoy writing them at all.…

My writing experience: I didn’t start to read until I was in first grade. Every week we would go to library to check-out two books and take a test on the books we read on a computer. Every day in English we read a short story to ourselves then we would play games dealing with the story to make it fun. To be honest I never really did a lot of writing in Elementary , Middle, or High school so I can’t pinpoint when I started writing. In essay writing I learned its always good to express yourself with your own opinion.…

“Choose a career that will always be needed,” my economics teacher said. It was 3:50 p.m and I was here, sitting in the lobby of a clinic thinking about everything and nothing at the same time. There were at least thirty-five kids here waiting their turn anxiously. My niece’s name was called and we walked into a hallway filled with medical equipment.…

Freshmen year was honestly pretty good I had a lot of friends and had a lot of fun in my classes with them, going into Brunswick High School I was a little bit nervous just the fact I would be at the bottom of the totem pole now and would possibly be picked on by the older kids but it turned out to be just a myth, but some of them were definitely scary looking. Some other things I was afraid of was what the class load would be like I didn't know exactly how much tougher it would be but it honestly wasn't to much tougher than middle school. The teachers here were fairly nice didn't have many problems with them but they did definitely hold your behavior to a higher standard. High school was a change from middle school definitely just because…

Prior to middle school, I thought I was satisfied with my position. I had friends, got along with my teachers, excelled in sports, and got decent grades in my classes. Back then, I thought this well-roundedness I sought between these necessities would offer me self-satisfaction. Little did I know, however, that I was going to confront this well-rounded nature of mine during my first awards ceremony in middle school. Among the most intelligent, artistic or athletic of the students present there, I was the one of the few who simply struggled to stand out.…

High school changes people. They express themselves, become opinionated, and they start to look at the world differently as they experience things they have never encountered before. A wise Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “Man’s mind stretched to a new idea never goes back to its original dimensions.” This quote is an excellent way to describe my experience in high school.…

Though I am not even half way through my high school career, I feel as if I can still be a help to those who are just beginning. High school is probably the most important part of your life that you are responsible for in our teenage years, so it is important not to mess it up. There are a few concepts that I have figured out by myself that I wished someone would have told me. Those of which include never procrastinate, think about your future, learn how to manage your time, and do not settle for less than your best. In the seventh grade, I faced a large transition in life. The previous year I had experienced middle school for the first time, but I would make that entrance again. I moved from Texas to North Dakota, where seventh grade was the first year of middle school. I took on those same fears and hopes that I had faced before, but in an unfamiliar place where I had no one except for family to give me support. I tried a lot of new things that year, mainly wrestling.…

Do you ever see the way you change and it all seems like it is okay until it isn’t? In the middle of my middle school year of 8th grade, I had met some new friends and started hanging out with them. At lunch we were all just laughing and having a good time and everything in life was going great. We all had been eating our food and talking about sports and trucks and what plans we had coming up that evening. As lunch came to and end we all headed to our classes like a normal everyday routine.…

These past three years have been the longest and the shortest of my life. The seemingly endless homework, long term assignments, and Wednesdays that felt more like Mondays made it seem like middle school would never end. Each individual day felt it took forever, but somehow, I feel like three years have been compressed into three weeks. I remember the first thing anyone said to me at Bigelow. “Welcome to Mr. Spiegels homebase, where people jump out from behind windows and hide under recycling bins”.…
