My Michigan Hero

When you think of hero what do you think? A person with a cape, tights, or maybe power. I think of my dad. He is there through thick and thin. My dad loves me even when I've done the worst things possible. Even when he yells at me I can tell he just trying to make me stronger.

My father may look scary with his scruffy beard or how tall he is but he is the sweet, kindest person I know. He is always doing things for me, my mom, or my brothers. My Michigan Hero Essay If I had to describe how I feel the only way I can is by saying that I feel like a pane of glass that's been shattered and put back together with ductape that doesn't stick, or like I'm drowning in my own depression. One person has always been able to bring me back to a little bit happier state, that person is my 53 year old grandpa who is also a tow truck driver, a semi driver, and a fireman. My grandpa has always been special to me because no matter what I do or how I feel he can manage to put a smile on my face. I remember going to my grandpa's "adopted" parents (Flourence and Neal's) house which also happens to be who he works for when he's driving tow trucks.…

I thought of Detroit as being a city with a nice downtown but dangerous and rundown everywhere else. I was so wrong.…
