Personal Narrative: My Man

Decent Essays
I chose my boyfriend, Martin, because I think he is a strong willed learner just like I am. He seems to have a use first level in each of the learning patterns, depending on the task at hand.

Sequence: (use first)

Martin does various construction jobs for different people in our area. He likes to do all of his jobs in a certain order so he is not bouncing from one unfinished project to the next. He has to know exactly what he has to have done, and how much time he has to do it in. He likes to use feedback to improve the next time.

Precision: (use first)

If there is one thing I know about my boyfriend, it’s that he thrives on being right. He loves knowing everything, and being the person everyone comes to when they need help. He seems to have a little piece of knowledge about everything. I can see him using his precision when he builds things for me. Everything has to be perfect and exact, every measurement exactly the same as the rest. It may take him a little longer to do things, but the end results are phenomenal.

He is unquestionably someone who is great a using his hands. He can fix anything from cars to appliances. He loves taking things apart and putting them back together. He can build almost anything. He has been building and renovating homes since he can remember, and just recently finished a job with a company building bridges.

Confluence: (use first)

I think that his confluence learning pattern would be another of his higher scoring patterns. Martin has an uncanny ability to think outside of the box. He can solve a problem in ways that others wouldn’t normally think of. He certainly has an imagination, and seems to have a way of turning things that have one purpose, into something that serves a whole other purpose.

Whether at a job, at home, or in between, any experience can be just as educational as a class at a university. In “Blue Collar Brilliance”, the author, Mike Rose, uses anecdotes from his family’s experiences to prove how although his family members might not have had much formal education, they all were “intelligent” due to the lessons they learned at work. Given my family’s own experience, I can attest to that. Throughout all of the generations of my family, half have attended a traditional university, while the others went to work or had a different experience, some even had both.…

Let Your NYC Electrician Electrify Your World! You should let your electrician "electrify" your world in a positive instead of negative way. They're the pros you turn to whenever there's an electrical problem in your home that involves more than simply flipping the breaker upwards after it went down or waiting for the brief power outage to finally end.
